Gettin' My Geek On! Watched it last nite! LOVED IT!!!! I'm man enough 2 admit that I'm a full-fledged, card-carrying Harry Potter geek. I've read all the books, seen the movies multiple times and have wasted hours on end discussing and debating major plot points with other nerds (Yes, I have comprised a water-tight theory 4 how Harry survived his parent's murder and the truth behind his scar). Needless to say, as the time draws closer 4 another Harry Potter movie (especially the one based on my favorite of the novels), I get more giddy than I get with the thought of helping Daniel Radcliffe celebrate his 18th birthday in 2007. The film version of "Goblet of Fire" is nothing short of spectacular. It is far and away the finest in the series. A roller coaster of action and suspense that is also sweepingly poignant. Plus, there are some big laughs in the film. I cannot find enough good things 2 say about it. It's important 2 note that if you've never read the books or seen any of the movies, DO NOT start with this one or you'll be helplessly lost in the fog. There is so much ground to cover with this installment that exposition on existing characters is skipped entirely. Purists may take issue with some major cuts that had 2 be made 2 keep the movie down 2 three hours. If you're looking for The Dursley's, Molly Weasley, Professor Trelawney or all things House-elf, U may be sorely disappointed. But this film more than honors it's source material and gets the story where it needs to be to start "Order of The Phoenix". Can't wait 2 see it again. Okay, I'm done now. I promise. no doubt it will be good.
Shame blockbusters dont take hardly any risks anymore with stories not based on books or those crappy comic book movies (fantastic four was so dull) | |
