OK, your story could take place on the stairs then? Maybe on the travelator at the airport? You must have a reason for your fear of elevators - what happened? That could be your story!

when I was about 4 my dad and I got stuck in-between floors in the lift in our apartment building. We were stuck for about 1/2 an hour. The doors were glass so you could look out of the top half of the doors and I could see up a lady's skirt
I'm sure your story is better than that

I'm sure your story is better than that That does remind of this one time I was in a rushing about in some store and ran up an escalator. There were glass panels on the side so - in theory - you could see the people's legs. Except I ran too fast, fell forwards and ended up like Superman with my arms outstretched - still going upwards. It was very embarrassing at the time. But I'm sure I gave the customers a laugh.

Did this turn you on? I think I said at the top of my voice "Look Daddy! I can see that lady's undies!!!" my dad was a bit embarassed, but I don't think it made much more of an impression on me.

How long was it stuck and what did you do to pass the time? Feel free to make it all up! This is true I got stuck in the elevator in my apartment building..... on Good Friday..... At midnight Lotta people out and about then.....not! I was there for 2 frigging hours with my dog, I slept some while waiting for somebody to show up. Eventually I heard a neighbour so I banged on the door and shouted, she made some calls and a guy came and let us out. It was a helluva time to forget the cellphone, I can tell you that.

Mormor needs to live on the first floor then

Ex-Moderator | I got stuck in an elevator after dinner on my senior prom night. We'd ate at 'Windows on Minnesota' which was a restaurant on the top floor of the highest skyscraper in the city. There were several proms all over the city that night, so the restaurant was full of prom couples. (My 'fancy' waiter followed me when I left to go to the bathroom to tell we were the best looking couple, though. ) When we left there were 2 other couples in the elevator with my boyfriend and I. The whole ride was shaky, speeding up and slowing down, speeding up and slowing down. It finally stopped between 2 floors, somehwere around floor 37 or so. We had to pry the doors open and crawl out. I thought it was funny. The other girls were terrified of getting their dresses dirty. |

Not very exciting, but true, nonetheless. Just a few weeks ago (late september?) we were taking pics of the scholarship students in the area near the studio (www.apastudios.com). There's a spiffy new trolley stop a the top of the hill where my studio is at, but you can only get to/from it via stairs/elevator. On the way back down from pic taking, the owner, myself, and about 7 of the other studnets got stuck between floors in the elevator for about 1.5 hrs. It wasn't so bad, although some people had places to go and some people freaked out 'cause it was so warm. It was kind of frustrating, though, when people (including the gent from the elevator company) would come up, press the button, and then shrug and walk away. Eventually, the gorgeous boys from the fire dept. came and rescued us (many a joke about how we could thank them). In conclusion, we all got passes to ride the trolley for free during the month of Oct., which worked well for me, as I had Jury duty the first week. After my last day of duty, I gave my pass to a woman in a wheelchair I ran into who was asking for quarters for trolley fare. Not very exciting, but true nonetheless.

One time...
I thought that I got stuck in an elevator wit'a bunch 'o' people. Turned out it was part of some mad-man's plan for revenge. I was able to crawl out the top hatch and... well, I won't bore you with the details but I foiled his plans & saved everyone. But then sed mad-man concocted a plan of vengeance 'gainst me. Next thing you know, I'm on a speeding bus that will explode if it goes under like 60 miles or sumthin'....yadda yadda yadda. Longest elevator ride of my life.
