Learn to play an instrument!

Seriously, people don't realise just how great it is untill you have learned. It is the best feeling imaginable to know you can pick up a guitar and entertain 1000's.

Plus, the worldneeds more REAL musuic. The charts are clogged up with thelikes of "Crazy frog" "Ministry of sound" and "Sugababes"... What the hell happened to "Kiss" Led Zeppelin" and "Guns N Roses"???

I urge you to learn to play a musical instrument before you die, and maybe pass on your knowledge to others.

Peace + Chicken grease cool

my mom taught me how to play a drum set. when i was a kid we kept a big pearl drum set in the dining room and i'd play it every day after school - i'd put on a record and just play along to it. it was great exercise and it was a blast trying to learn all the drum parts to songs i liked. kids should definitely be taught instruments.

Everyone should learn to play an instrument. This also goes for any adults that want to learn to play an instrument that don't know how - not just for children.

when we have jams at our place I usually play keyboards. I can play any song (badly). I played the theme song to Knight Rider at the last one, which went down very well cool falloff

I've screwed around with the guitar for years, but I suck pretty bad. Does anyone have any recommendations on how to get better? Are lessons the way? Online stuff? I just don't want to spend a ton of money on lessons if I don't have to. Has anyone tried classes at community colleges?

Learning how to play an instrument is one of the coolest things in the world. You learn a lot about discipline as well as how loud you can play before the neighbors start shoutin' at you to turn that s**t down...

Believe me, I know...

i'd seriously love to learn how to play more than one musical instrument, it's somthing i could do in the evenings, on saturdays. we need more teachers. Singing lessons is also another thing id like to go to.

It can indeed be a lot of fun.

I played guitar for a lot of years (classic guitar). I haven't practiced for 5 years now.
But 2 months ago I've started to play sax. Such a cool instrument cool

My daughter turned 13 on the 26th of last month...

...This was her b'day present.

She's been playing in school symphonic bands for the past 2 years and will be in a drumline this year...

...Also already in a rock group. headbang

Actually I don't use that, I was just trying to get someone's goat by posting a sampler.

All jokes aside, I actually seen some people use a MPC and laptop computers on stage as part of their "live" show (counting raves of course!).
