Everyone be proud of me!

So I went to an open house at Minneapolis Community and Technical College tonight. I submitted my application for enrollment. yippy!

I've been delaying going back to school forEVER and while this was only an application, it's nice to know I finally did something about it.

I may just get my generals in and transfer to a 4 year school, or I may actually get a technical degree in Apparel Technology. It's the only program for it in the midwest, apparently. I'd learn industrial sewing, pattern making, computer aided and regular fashion design, etc. I'd LOVE to do that program, but entry level positions in that field make about half what I'm making now, so in a few years I'd be really, really broke. lol. We'll see.

But yay me! woot!

Amy has that degree from MCTC (or something very similar) big grin

She did complain that Target only wanted interns who had 4 year degrees and then sent people to her school to learn some skills wink

I know, right??? I remember talking to her about it. It's ridiculous. But maybe since I've already worked there for 9 freaking years that will say something. We'll see. I'm not sure I wanna stay at Target anyway. I wanna make my own clothes someday.

Again, this is such a minute, tiny, little step. But it's a step taken, nonetheless.

I'm actually looking forward to taking all the placement tests. I'm hoping I can test out of taking a lot of stuff. smile
