folks who talk on their cell phones and drive kinna irk me--there's been instances when i've been with friends and they're on the phone, but they talk long enough for confirming a meet-up place or something when we go out (super-brief). that kinna stuff's okay...but having a long-assed, drawn-out conversation like you're at home and sitting in yer living room in yer fuckin underwear? THAT is the shit i hate, because the majority of the time the driver ain't paying attention to their driving.

that, and some bastard yabbing on their cell phone while driving is the reason my dad's been on disability for the past 10 or so years; he got rear-ended and it fucked his spinal column up, thus sending 'im into an early retirement.

mad

sorry about your pops that really sucks!!! I can't believe it's still not illegal to use the phone while driving here..... you would think there are massive amounts of accidents occuring every day and a law should be passed or enforced....less accidents duh!!

I saw a truck driver making a turn in a busy intersection while yakking on his mobile, he was going quite wide and I had to keep my distance so as not to get sandwiched. disbelief

It's illegal in Belgium but still a lot of people do it.

There was once a program where the police would chase (not American style car-chases;-)) cars that broke the rules and film the violation. They once filmed a woman who was chatting on the cell phone and driving. She was zigzagging, crossing the lines of both sides of the road. They stopped her and asked her if she didn't notice the zigzagging and she said she didn't. eek

I never do it. I'm already easily distracted when I'm driving.

Anxiety

people who talk on their cell phones in lieu of paying attention to what they're doing is a HUGE pet peeve of mine in any setting. people who can't hang up long enough to interact with a cashier is something that i think is particularly disgusting. last week, i was at subway, and as those of you who patronize subway know, you have to TELL THE PEOPLE WHAT YOU WANT ON YOUR SANDWICH. the guy in front of me wouldn't get off his damn cell and had the nerve to act annoyed when they asked him what ingredients he wanted. THAT pisses me off. show a little respect, sheesh.

It's the law where I am, no talking on celly while driving. I've seen people drive all over the road, or going wayy to slow while yapping on the celly.

Pay attention to your driving!!

I guess to some people answering their cell phone means that their car goes on automatic pilot, automatically.

I don't like it at all.
