But when his mother gets chained up for defending him, and he comes to visit her outside her cell, and she reaches her trunk down to swing and comfort him--I boo hood like a bitch.

Dumbo is a story about alienation. About being different. And ultimately it's a clarion call to a greater role for yourself despite yoru diffeences from others. It's the quintescential bearings of arms towards a greater life.

And ultimately it's about misfits bonding together and realizing that it's not just the "perfect" people who are deserving of love and respect, it's the outsiders as well.

Okay, I was 7 or 8 years old. I went to see DUMBO with my Dad, and my two cousins that are like brothers to me. In the beginning they had a 15 minute short called LOBO. It was a about a baby wolf that gets caught in a trap then later saved. I CRIED. Then DUMBO comes on and it's all over. I was a mess the entire time. To this day one of my cousins will not let me live it down. Everytime he remembers it you can't shut him up. He rolls with laughter.

I think DUMBO and LOBO made me what I am today. A sensitive person that needs therapy.
