I'm the merchandise planning manager in the Men's Activewear department and some peeps from Russell Athletic are in town to show some new stuff so they're taking us out tonight. I used to go on vendor dinners ALL THE TIME when I first started with my company - I was in the area rug world so everyone was fighting for our business. Now that I'm in Activewear, we carry Nike, Adidas, Russell, etc so they don't really have to kiss our ass that much - it's pretty much understood that we HAVE to carry their product and they need to be in our stores. Oh well...  | |

A couple years ago, Russell took some lucky people from my department to do some batting practice at Pacbell Park (home of the Giants). They got to hit some balls, mess around on the field, meet some old players from the Giants' past, check out the locker rooms, etc.... Unfortunately, that was before my time.  | |
