This is the way it goes in wrestling. They can do 57 different drugs a day for a year and live through it. After they get clean and get their act together, bam. Gone.

Eddie is one of my favorites, the wrestling world will not be the same without his skills.

Heart failure is what they're saying now. He was found in his hotel room's bathroom, with his toothbrush still in his mouth.

I guess we'll know for sure when the autopsy is done, but they can pretty much guarantee heart failure.

He's been sober for 4 years on November 15th.

He's got three daughters. The oldest is like, 14.

I was shocked when I read about this last night , I only just got back into enjoying wrestling in Summer 2004 after a long time out , his matches with JBL were what hooked me back into watching it regularly I'd say , this is a terrible loss sad

I couldn't believe it when I heard about it.
Vince McMahon did a nice job on RAW tonight, allowing different stars to say a few words here and there.

It was very interesting to see these huge, musclebound wrestlers start to cry.

It's also a shame that Eddie passed away so young, especially after he kicked his drug habits...well, MOST of them. He was clearly using steroids, (rapid muscle-gain, back acne...), and I will bet that the autopsy reveals that his heart failure was steroid-related.

RIP Eddie.

damn I knew I should've watched it tonight for the tribute. Smackdown will probably do something too, but it's been ages since I've watched wrestling so I'll probably forget when it's coming on.

disbelief That's an awful thing to say. Not all wrestlers are on steroids. Not enough, even, to say most of them are on the juice.

Rapid muscle-gain? Have you been watching wrestling the last 4 years? Eddie's muscle-gain has not changed that dramatically. If Eddie was under the influence of ANYTHING.. it would have been a few pain killers. While not good given his history, they're very understandable with his career and his workload.

Smackdown and RAW left today for a tour overseas. I don't see how Chris Benoit is going to keep it together.

I'm very much into wrestling, not just WWE wrestling, but other promotions and federations to. This loss shook the whole professional wrestling world and all it's fans.

No doubt. Chris Benoit and Eddie go back years. THe tribute show was nice. Nice touch at the end by John Cenile (yep, I spelt it right) where he took off his Eddie Guerrero shirt laid it down and placed his WWE belt on the shirt.
Alas I didn't see the entire show, did they do the 10-count bell salute?

I thought it was confirmed that steroids contributed to his death. Anyway steroids aren't unheard of in the WWE or any wrestling organiztion.

When that many wrestlers over the years are dropping dead of "heart attacks" it's due to steroid and drug abuse. If you go back and look at Eddie from when he was in WCW until his last months you can see how much bigger he was. A lot of the wrestlers there are on the juice and Vince Macmahon does nothing to discourage it.

I saw the tribute show and Stephanie macmahon is a terrible actress. She was going though the motions of crying but there were no tears in her eyes, She was trying way to hard.lol

Yeah, when wrestlers die at such young ages of heart failure you can't help but think of some kind of performance enhancing drug being the cause. I don't know if they're banned in the WWE, and I'm not sure if Vince requires drug tests from time to time. If not....he should start doing so. And even if Eddie wasn't on steroids/or similar drug, then his past drug/alcohol abuse could've been a factor. I'm not gonna dwell on how he died anymore, the point is he's gone and the wrestling world and fans will miss him.

This is the Eddie I remember seeing in WCW;

This is the Eddie of late;

His natural build is a middleweight...but he was bulked up to 220lbs. And how could you miss all that acne on his back?

Steroids. With a demanding travel schedule, they are forced to take performance enhancing drugs in order to build AND maintain that thick, ripped look which the fans crave.

Sad but true.
