My daughter got a toy shoe stuck up her nose Terrible eperience. For those of you who have children, Polly Pocket toys are tools of the devil. My 4 year old daughter, in a moment of boredom yesterday, decided to shove a tiny toy shoe, a pink high heel about the size of a pinky nail, up her nostril. She told my wife when she got home from work (my daughters stay with their great grandmother during the day) and we spent last night trying to make her sneeze, blow her nose etc. We took her to the doctor this morning and in a brutal scene that I won't soon forget it took six people, my wife, myself, 3 nurses, and a doctor to hold my kicking and screaming daughter down while they shoved various tools up her nose to extract it. After 15 horrible minutes, the doctor finally got the thing out. We went home and threw away all the tiny toys she had and she has promised she will never shove anything up her nose again.
Parents out there, be careful with the Polly Pockets. All good things they say never last...

I can't stand those Polly things!
(un)fortunately, my daughter was "cured" of sticking things up her nose when (as a 3 year-old) she stuck an un-popped popcorn kernel up her nose, which became lodged up there. Finally we took her to the hospital, and thankfully since the doctor said that it had started to expand (from the moisture in there). Then he proceded to reprimand my wife for being "a careless parent" and letting the child eat popcorn unsupervised. After the initial shock, my wife let him have it. Hopefully it cured him of being such a self-righteous *ss. By St. Boogar and all the saints at the backside door of Purgatory!

I learned this from an old doctor when my oldest daughter stuck an eraser up her nose. You press on the OTHER nostril to close it,hold a kleenex up to the nose (very important!!) and blow in their mouth. The object should come flying out of the nostril. Try this a couple times and if it doesn't work then call the doctor, "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind"-Dr Seuss

when I was a kid I had that game "Don't spill the beans." Well yes I did it I stuck a bean up my nose. I could not get it out and I went into my mom and dad room to tell them what I did. They had to take me to the emergency room, I stuck it up so far the doctor had a hard time getting it out...

We did try that. My mom saw that on the Internet. We tried 3 or 4 times and it didn't work, unfortunately. All good things they say never last...

I hope your wife switched doctors after that unfortunate experience. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

My youngest nephew (when he was three), stuck a piece of macaroni up his nose. My mom and sister-in-law took him to the emergency room, and from the way my mom talked, it was similar to what Gotta experienced. Luckily, they were able to get it out, but my mom said my nephew was screaming at the top of his lungs the whole time. I wonder why it is that little kids stick things up their nose? RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.

awwwww poor baby
I remember when my daughter was about 3, she stuck her arm into the wet/dry vac. The attachment wasn't on it so she just stuck her arm in it. She just simply rolled the vac to my dad and said "Papa, my arm". Me and father being the weirdos we are, cracked up because she was sooooo calm and matter of fact about it. My mother freaked out and yelled at us for laughing. We just got some lotion and it came right out.

When I was about 4 i stuck a pearl up my nose. She was able to blow it out, but I was sooo scared. I don't know why so many little kids do that.
