Have you published a book?

How did you do it?

Is it a best seller?

Published? A publisher's job never was my dream profession, but I guess I did photocopy several anarchist manifestos in my teens and handed them out at punk gigs...

i've published books. not bestsellers or anything. certainly not great literature. but a couple of series for young adults. they were fun to write because i traveled around to 'research' them and my travel expenses were tax deductions smile

problem is i publish under my own name and so when i answer this question then people ask about my stuff and then i wish i'd never said anything at all because i don't want everyone here to know who i am boxed

Never published a book. I've won some prizes with my poetry and a few poems were published. I truly want to continue this one day, sending in poetry to some magazines is supposed to be the next step here in Belgium. I've had some people telling me I really should do that, but I guess my life is evolving a bit too fast. What I've written two years ago can be nice, but does not stand for who I am now. So I don't know; it's just a matter of getting the nerves and energy to grab the chances I may have, and daring to confront myself as well...

I have a book chapter (which was invited) and I have published 20 or so scientific articles, reviews and letters (just submit them and hope for a kindly review)

I have a work book in the early pipeline (its a rewrite of an earlier edition - so I just approached the original publishers) and I want to write a biography of my dad - still trying to get something down on paper to send to a publishers.

The quickest way to publish your finished manuscript is self publish.

Other then that, you'd spend a lot of time regrouping your feelings from rejection letters.

Here's a quick way to get published and get your book in the stores...

Don't quit your day job....the best selling books through self-publishing have maxed out at 500 copies per yr.

Good luck

Anxiety

not yet. i nearly did a self-publishing thing w/ some of my essays, but i got overwhelmed by the logistics. maybe i'll try it again soon, though i'd really rather just write some new material.
