They are indeed adorable. I was at the airport a week ago and a plane had just landed with a bunch of white people who had newly-adopted Asian kids with them, so the whole terminal was full of relatives with flowers and cameras. The parents looked a bit shell-shocked and incredibly happy all at the same time, as if they were thinking "How the hell am I going to be able to keep this precious little life in good health. It's starting already tonight!". I suppose people who have their own kids feel that way too; one second the kid is just there, and wants attention 24/7, but at least they've gone through a pregnancy and are somewhat mentally prepared.
I saw one kid that was hanging on tightly to her new father and looking at everybody else with great big eyes. She looked like she was thinking. "Oh I guess I should hold on to this new person so I won't be left alone again."

It is VERY scary bringing first baby home for the first time. Every time they cry you think "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD!" because you don't have a clue what could be the matter, and it almost physically hurts you when your own baby cries like that. Second baby? Much easier Third baby? Piece of cake! They crying doesn't even bother you any more.

Trust me, I should know | |

"Oh I guess I should hold on to this new person so I won't be left alone again." the seriously short lived LAX tv show had that senario at the end of one of their episodes...I got all teary

@ your cousin calling her little boyfriend "Diddan", that's just too precious! My youngest nephew used to call the color purple "purtle". We used to show him something purple just so we could hear him mispronounce the word, because it was so funny. RIP, mom. I will forever miss and love you.
