They are indeed adorable. I was at the airport a week ago and a plane had just landed with a bunch of white people who had newly-adopted Asian kids with them, so the whole terminal was full of relatives with flowers and cameras. The parents looked a bit shell-shocked and incredibly happy all at the same time, as if they were thinking "How the hell am I going to be able to keep this precious little life in good health. It's starting already tonight!". I suppose people who have their own kids feel that way too; one second the kid is just there, and wants attention 24/7, but at least they've gone through a pregnancy and are somewhat mentally prepared.

I saw one kid that was hanging on tightly to her new father and looking at everybody else with great big eyes. She looked like she was thinking. "Oh I guess I should hold on to this new person so I won't be left alone again." sad mushy

It is VERY scary bringing first baby home for the first time. Every time they cry you think "OH GOD OH GOD OH GOD!" because you don't have a clue what could be the matter, and it almost physically hurts you when your own baby cries like that.
Second baby? Much easier biggrin
Third baby? Piece of cake! They crying doesn't even bother you any more.

he talks all day long, he uses all the right sounds for the english language - it is incredible, it sounds like he is saying stuff, sometimes appropriately - like "shoes" (shooss) when I bring him his sandals, he says "dat", and "bup" a lot biggrin cracks me up

comfort
OK, don't do this OK: When the missus is using the toilet for a number 2 (which can be uncomfortable in the early days after the birth, and might take a while) do NOT bring the baby into the bathroom when he is crying to say to her "hurry up! he's crying!" it will just make HER cry. Trust me, I should know mad

lol

Y'mean "c'mon woman I got beer to drink and football to watch" isn't a constructive thing to say in the days following birth?

I will be all over this baby, she has had him for 7 months!! It's my turn already!!

It's SO exciting!!! I am jealous, there is nothing in the whole world like meeting your baby for the first time.

Don't say "make him shut up I can't hear the telly!" either
or chair

lol @ your cousin calling her little boyfriend "Diddan", that's just too precious! My youngest nephew used to call the color purple "purtle". We used to show him something purple just so we could hear him mispronounce the word, because it was so funny. lol
