My sister in the States was just telling me out Einstein; she says it's sooooo yummy!
I make most of my soups from scratch 'cause I have this hand held liqufyer thingy from the kitchen people "Bosch", and you can just stick it in the pot and grind up everything even while it's still HOT(which I learned one cannot really do in the food processor cause the containers aren't heat resistent enought). So far, I regularly make: lentil soup (from indian dal to moroccan style vegatable w/lemon) potato soup with leeks black bean gingered carrot brocoli with cheese cream of asparagus mulligatawny pumpkin with apple (and i always serve it in the pumpkin as a bowl) tomato basil w/ creme fraiche cream of spinach corn chowder lobster bisque ...and then i recently learned how to make a mexican chicken based soup with hot peppers inside but i only made that once and can't remember the name. the weather is going to start getting retty cold here soon, so soups are the yummiest, easiest thing to have (especially if you feel too lazy to spend a lot of time in the kitchen)

Made by moi REALLY???? Now that combination sounds so odd to me (!) but that little face you put at the end makes me feel adventurous enough to try it!

Home made asparagus or mushroom is really nice before Christmass dinner. My friend Simon bought a can of tomato and churrizo sausage recently which sounded really tasty!

I love: Oxtail Leek & Potato French Onion Just don't come near me with Vegetable or Tomato. OMG, OXTAIL I haven't had since hanging out at my mom's in the midwest, like 10 years ago. I do remember LOVING the taste though! Homestyle soups like that and chicken noodle always used to cure of theflu for some reason, especially if there were spicy peppers added!

I made a lovely French Onion soup once in which you had to include red wine. Delicious! All that buttery bread and yummy cheese AND wine...gotta love the good old fashioned decadence of that! A return to form from when no one cared about carb-control, fat control, or any number of the control labels we stick the way we eat today. Aaah, those were the days, darling!

Geyree... maybe it's because I'm not American but I have never heard of it. She's reinventing Europe. Likes Belgiun waffles too for example. I'm not the biggest soup-fan, but the best one is the Russian borscht (beet-soup)

Ex-Moderator | I almost never eat soup. Maybe a nice wild rice soup in the winter. A friend makes an amazing cauliflower soup I like. Asparagus and broccoli are always nice too. I rarely eat soup these days. I should eat more soup. |
