It was all very drunken after a First Ave show. I followed him and one of his roadies around the bar for a while. He was very nice, but I was very, very drunk. God, how embarrassing! |

And when I do, they tend to be rather, well, special. But I agree, a nice letter can be much, much better than a phone call. |

It's cuz you said you liked the nuances, the 'thought' that went into a conversation. Even more so with writing. I always make a draw first, then make sure they get a GREAT original Gooey letter. Which means lots of pages, good old long hand and lots of words. Typing much, but sayin' nuthin', sayin' nuthin', heheheh.

There are the subtle nuances of a phone conversation and the carefully (or sometimes not so carefully) worded letters. I think both are a craft in their own right. |

Phonecalls are more a representation of me, body and mind, often very spontaneous, while letters are composed, more showing off the inner me. I like composing. Don't mistake me, I always got into problems due to phone bills. I am as much a good talker as I am a writer.

I like talking on the phone depending on who i am talking to. If it is one of my buddies it's fine because we have lot to talk about. It's hard when it's a female friends or a female i am involved with because it usually get's on the topic of things i have no interest in. So she is talking and I am going "Uh huh, Yes, yeah. Okay. Yeah." and so on and i have usually found an excuse to get off the phone. It depends on who I am talking to.

For me there is never the right time to receive a phone call. I always get them at the WORST possible moment. Likewise I promise to ring people and I just never get a chance. I don't like it. I usually can't even hear the other person over the noise at my place and they kids play up when my attention isn't 100% on them. I rather keep in touch email. I don't have a mobile phone, it would drive me insane.
I just don't like talking much full stop. F*#%ing phone rang in the middle of this post
