the one you want is the cheapest one! The others are bigger.

but programs you use for graphics (like photoshop, illustrator, after effects, flash, etc) don't come with it. You have to get those seperately.

Laptops are nice and all, but if you are serious about the graphics thing I'd recommed a tower with lotsa slots and ports biggrin if you're thinking of keeping it for a long time you may need to upgrade it several times in it's life. Get a third party monitor, big as you can afford.

You'll be able to get the software cheaper with student ID - they have educational bundles for people like you (lucky cow mad !!)

My bosses at my old work bought powerbooks a few years back which have been great for presentations at clients companies, but don't have the guts to do real work, they all bought new computers in a short time.

I have both an iBook and a Dell desktop. I primarily use the PC but the iBook is great for other shit, too. charlotte is right - check out your school website/bookstore. I know my old uni had deals with Dell and Apple so I got my iBook for about $200 cheaper (and my iPod for $50 cheaper). And macs are very user friendly - you just have to get used to it.

This is my humble opinion, but consider getting something more than a 12.1 inch screen. That's the size of my iBook and while that's ok because I don't use it all of the time, it would be easier if it was bigger - 14 or 16.

Before you buy, see if there's somewhere you can try out the laptop. An apple store perhaps?
I mean, like, where is the sun?
