It's not a big European thing.
When they had one in Nijmegen back while I was still in the airforce, I of course made out and did not see ANYTHING of the movie they were showing.

@ 2the9's "Escape from Witch Mountain. Oh that brings back memories.
Anyway, yeah being mexican, we'd sneek all the neighborhood kids into the back of my moms stationwagon and cover them with a blanket till we got in. Then everyone would set out lawn chairs and the BBQ pit, cook some carne asada and watch 4 movies in our pajamas for $3. okay Just kidding, but I did see Purple Rain at a Drive-in with my mom, my friend, and her mom when we were like 13. OMG how embarassing to watch Prince feeling up Appolonia while my mom was in the car. The place is still there off the 110 fwy, but all the screens are tore down. It's like some place for people to park or something??? Actually I think we'd pay like $1 a person or so and get to see like 2 movies. Lawd now we pay about $10 to see some crummy movie. Screw it, I'll wait for it to come out on DVD or rent it from the library. Found Rave unto the year 2000 there. She keeps her pride in a bucket next to the Milky way....Girl6

I love drive-in movies.
We took my nephew when he was 3.. He sat in the back seat and devoured a Dill pickle.. To this day when he visits he always goes to my refrigerator and looks for Claussen Dill Pickles.. (He is 20) ^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^*^
