How in the HELL did that happen? Ralph "Daniel-san" Macchio is 44 freaking years old today. 44? 44! He's the "karate kid", not the "karate geriatric". How have the hands of time moved so quickly?

Does this rule out "Karate Kid 4" (or "Karate Kid 5" is you count Hilary Swank's "Next Karate Kid" which I don't). If Macchio is 44 than Mr. Miyagi must be going on 120.

Ralphy looks just fine for his age. And I still love every damn second of this movie. It's one of the great family films, and it always gets me at the end.

Yeah...I remember reading something about how old he was when they made the film, considering that he's supposed to be a teenager in the movie.
Don't forget that he was in "The Outsiders" with Tom Cruise, Patrick Swayze and them...so he's in that age bracket.

He's just lucky that he had a baby face.
