i can remember being really weirded out when my friends parents would always want to kiss and hug us whenever we left the house. i just didn't grow up in that kind of a household. we are getting better though lol... my father will actually give me a hug and a kiss when i'm leaving sometimes.

i'm very cuddlely with kids - how can you not be?? and i like it when i see couples having casual contact in public. walking arm in arm, or just a hand on a shoulder or reaching around the hips. contact doesn't have to be constant.

with a lover i want to feel your lips on my neck or your hand on the curve of my ass when you walk in a room. i want to play with your hair while we watch tv. i want to surprise you with a foot rub at the end of a long day. i want to fall asleep next to you... maybe with your arm over my waist. but i don't expect to wake up like that.

I am not a cuddler. I think it's mostly a woman thing and most guys do it just to keep the woman happy so they will get rewarded. The only time i really do it is if i am hoping for some sack time or just making out. It sounds bad but it's true. I do not need lots of affection. I think it's mainly for women who are needy/insecure and who did not get enough attention from Daddy.

My friend has a girlfriend who cannot seem to get enough of it. When we are out she is always doing something like putting her head on his shoulder. Wanting to hold his hand. Always cuddling up close to him. All of us just roll our eyes. She is one of the most annoying women i have ever come across. She is homely too. Looks like a parrot.

i'm lucky to have a family who kiss and cuddle a lot, although i only show affection to people i feel comfortable with,i've known people for years and never felt it was appropriate to show affection and i've known people barely an hour and i feel like i can hug or peck them on the cheek.i do tend to smother my boyfriend with hugs and kisses,he's not complaining yet!!!and if his affections wore off i'd be demanding to know why!!!

I fulfil my daily cuddle quota on the kids, I can satisfy my skin hunger by kissing their little faces and hands all day. But when they grow up my husband is going to have to put up with it until we have grandkids lol it usually leads to boff but I can live with that

I am a guy and I love to cuddle. I like human contact. Don't think I will ever outgrow that. I like to "spoon" while sleeping (but end up on the other side of the bed in the morning shrug).

I hug my mom, grandma's and saying good buy to my best friend who I only see once a year.

There is nothing strange about showing love or not showing love. People are different. Even if we don't agree with some of the things the other does at times, that doesn't make one or the other different, more needy, insecure, or a lesser person. We are all different. The world would be boring if we weren't. smile

Oh goodness. Don't get me wrong. I absolutely need my own space at times. It can't be a constant, like you said. That would drive me crazy also.

i had a guy like that. he even followed me around the house nod-it was pure torture lol

I can be a total cuddler and I can be very get the hell off me. For instance if I don't feel well? Get the hell off me. If it is TO hot out? Get the hell off me.... If suddenly the opposite sex is paying to much attention and you feel the need to mark your territory? Get the HELL OFF ME!
Other then that, carry on!

I grew up in a no hugs/cuddles house watching my best friend's family being all touchy feely with each other always hugging...I wanted that closeness..that love shrug
I grew up uncomfortable with being touched...still am sometimes..if I'm really comfortable with you I'll hug..and if not then stay the hell away from me..
Now that I'm grown and have a daughter I'm always hugging and giving her kisses so she doesn't feel the same way I did..and now that I think about it..she's the only one I do ever hug hug

I'm the youngest child and always received a lot of affection from my parents, and thus grew up an affectionate person. My wife likes that regular physical contact too, so it works out nicely. There are odd occasions when I do need my space though, and as Dex said, I don't feel the need to hold hands everywhere we go, although there are times when it feels right to do so. Much of this only applies to how I am with my wife though. In Thailand people don't really hug and would very rarely kiss in public. This has affected the way I am when I return to the UK where I typically would hug female relatives and kiss them on the cheek as a greeting and when saying goodbye. You get used to doing the 'wai' greeting here rather than hugging, kissing or shaking hands and it does leave you less affectionate with friends and relatives, I think.

Sure, it's like this:

Many Thais, my wife included, will also 'wai' when passing a temple or shrine, even when just driving past in a taxi.

There are rules of conduct when greeting people with a 'wai', which simply put means that older people take precedence over younger people, and royalty and monks take precedence over all. It's rare that you would 'wai' a child, although in the rare instance you did to teach them manners and such, you would have your hands around your chest like in the pic above. When greeting someone younger the tips of your thumbs would be around your chin. For elders your thumbs would be around your nose. When greeting monks your thumbs would be at your brow and for royalty around your forehead.

Note here silly pageant model doing an inappropriate 'wai' to someone older. biggrin

Hope that helps. smile
