I hate TARGET

Went shopping at Target cause it was downtown where i stay in Minneapolis. I received no help and when i asked these non speaking english people if this the right size for a camcorder they just said, me don't know ask gentlemen there. So i said , well what are u doing working the electronic department for then. ASK GENTLEMEN, ME DON"T KNOW. Then i go to cashier to pay for it, they standing around talking and i said, is this line open, yes come on over after 3 minutes of waiting. And then get this, it cost 3 dollars to park in the target parking lot too.

No i am not a Walmart recruiter, but i have never seen bad treatment or saw bad treatment in any other store, even the salvation army or goodwill was politer and smarter than that.

I love target. Ive never rally had a bad experience there. I really dislike going into Wal-Mart. Bad customer sevice, always over crowded.

But I see your point. I would have demamded to speak with a manager, and refused to pay for parking.

Thank Goodness, we dont have to pay for parking. In my hometown, public parking is 1.00 eveey 1/2 hour.
Say it's just a dream...
U open up ur eyes and come 2 realize
u simply imagined this
So u lean over and give her a kiss
Here on earth, here on earth,
with u it's not so bad
Here on earth, here on earth
eye don't feel so sad
Stay right here

$3 to park in Target Parking Lot????? shocked shocked shocked

Dont tell me that the US is catching the UK disease of paying 2 park everywhere now!!!!! I thought that when we return back 2 the USA, we were gonna b saying Goodbye 2 all that shit!!!!!

In all the 8 years of living in the USA, we never had 2 pay 2 park ANYWHERE, albeit shopping malls, grocery store parking lots, down the main streets, other stores parking lots, banks parking lots, Post Office parking lots, and any other parking lots!!!!!

The only parking lots where we DID have 2 pay 2 park was Airport Parking Lots!!!! nod nod

From the Wal-Mart thread:

Target isn't so innocent either. They allow their pharmacists to refuse to dispense birth control and emergency contraception to female customers if the pharmacist objects on religious grounds. They also claim that its employees have a right to discriminate against its customers provided the discrimination is motivated by an employee's religious beliefs. Read it here:

If you spend $20 or more, parking is free for at least a few hours. They should have offered you a parking validation as you checked out. Next time, ask for one.

Their lot is a pay lot as it's in downtown Mpls where parking is a premium.
I've never heard of paying to park at a Target lot anywhere else in the world. This is the first 'urban' Target model as most Targets are freestanding stores in the burbs.

As for the rest, I have a humongous tendency to doubt you. The customer service at the downtown Target is usually much better than any other Target as it is hooked on to corporate headquarters and any executive up through the CEO of the company could stop in at any time. So many corporate employess shop there, they HAVE to be on top of everything 100% of the time or they'll quickly hear about it.
If your experience was bad, I'd guess it's a very, very rare occurrence.

Well i doubt all those corporates be there on a sunday morning, wouldn't you agree!!!! Also i think that is stupid to have people pay to park if u shopping there giving them money anyway. Tell those corporates that. From a concerned shopper!!!!!

Over here, u cant even enter a parking lot without having 2 take a ticket from a machine then a barrier goes up and then u can enter and then u keep the ticket with u and when u leave u have 2 put the ticket into another machine and it tells u how much 2 pay for the length of time u have been then then u pay and then the machine prints out the "reciept" on the ticket, then when u leave the car park u then have 2 put this ticket into another machine and a barrier goes up and u can leave the parking lot!!

Then theres another way: U park then u estimate how long u are gonna b in town or wherever and pay accordingly, then u get a ticket from the machine and stick the ticket on your windshield and when u leave u peel the ticket off!!

But theres even another way in a multistorey parking ramp near us, U do the same as method #2, but u have 2 punch in your cars registration plate number in a keypad in the machine and it prints out on the ticket!!! That way, if u overstay your estimated time and everything they trace who the car belongs 2 by the National Vehicle Registration database, and then u get a parking fine issued 2 U through the mail!!!

Daylight robbery!!!!!

Also, get this saintsation!!! U even have 2 pay 2 park in Hospital parking lots here 2!!! nod nod

Actually, this is somewhat inaccurate. Target is pretty pissed at Planned Parenthood right now for spreading misinformation. Target's official policy is they will allow a pharmacist to not fill a perscription if it is against their religious beliefs, however, that pharmacist is obligated to have another pharmacist working there fill it, or in an extreme example, arrange for it to be filled at another nearby phamacy, all quickly and efficiently for the guest. Unfortunately, when Planned Parenthood sent someone into the store to test it this didn't happen at one store. Target has disciplined that particular store.

As far as I'm concerned, I can continue to shop there in good conscience. And I'm pretty adament about abortion/birth control rights.

I do work for Target. smile I've mentioned that several times here.

I believe that all large corporations are probably evil in ways we don't always know. But Target so far hasn't reared its ugly head to me. And after working there for 9 years, I can honestly say they are a really good company, both to it's employees and to the communities they are located in.

Hmmm, my links don't work on this thread for some reason. I'm still somewhat concerned that an employee is allowed to discriminate in the first place. Is this a common policy in most pharmacies?

I think places are just starting to make policies as more and more religious whackos decide what they should and should not prescribe. Let me say, I don't agree with the practice, I feel pharmacists should be required to dispense the medication a person is prescribed, but at least this policy still allows the person to be serviced quickly and efficiently.

I'll add, Target's policy differentiates from what I stated above where the law dictates otherwise.

Actually, I probably shouldn't be saying anything since I've admitted I work there and I'm not 'authorized' by Target to make these statements. But it's no different than the conversation I've had with friends over this, so I think I'm ok. lol.

It's actually Minnesota law that allows pharmacists to decline to fill the prescription if it goes against their religious beliefs. I also believe the law states that if they refuse to fill it, they have to have another pharmacist complete the transation. There are about 20 or so states that allow similar laws.
