for me it's EASILY Some Kind of Wonderful...

I know it's just Pretty In Pink in reverse with a soundtrack that's not as well known, but I LOVE that film. Good Stuff.

Did anyone mention "The Last American Virgin?" It's a heartbreaker.

Or "Better Off Dead?" Quite the opposite. lol

Definately GREASE (I've seen it about 70 times) and SIXTEEN CANDLES (You yanky my wanky) I love JOAN CUSACK in this movie (the water fountain).

ELECTION was great too.

Well, it doesn't really have much of a plot... that's kind of the charm of it. smile

It features a young John Cusack, and lots of "wacky foreigners." Well, actually the two Asian Howard Cosell guys who follow him around harassing him fit that bill, and there's the poor French girl who's living as an exchange student with the fat guy... thus the "international language."

Oh, and the very special meal that JC's mom fixes for her... french fries, french toast, perrier... you get the picture. lol

its a toss up between ferris and pretty in pink. some kind of wonderful was a cool one, too, but it was too unrealistic. pretty in pink was one of favorites from the brat pack era (though st elmo's fire is my all time fave brat pack movie!).

believe it or not, when i watch ferris bueller's day off now, i get a little too sentimental for time gone by. its pretty pathetic, lol, but it makes me long for my high school youth a little too much! lol

very vaguely remember it, and I usually remember EVERYTHING I read and see. neutral I probably saw it when it aired on tv first time.

no, but i can relate to the right-wing fundamentalist bunghole gym teacher, and how the cool teachers who actually knew how to make students like school would all get fired within a semester.

hands down, this movie does to "teen movies" what scary movie did to horror films..expose them as the utter dribble that they are lol

OMG, this movie is fucking hysterical! If you're not offended by very raunchy humour and are familiar with a lot of the flicks mentioned above, you'll laugh your ass off! Mia Kirshner as "Catherine" (below) makes one of the great entrances in film history:

CATHERINE (sexily): Jake, can I ask you a question? How come, whenever I tell I guy he can stick it wherever he wants, he always sticks it in my ass?

JAKE (disgusted): That's just way too much information for me, Catherine.

CATHERINE: Oh, no, Jake! Way too much information would be telling you that after they're done, I always take a huge dump. ...On their chest.
falloff

This flick is actually an extremely clever parody of teen movies that shows how utterly ridiculous the majority of them are. As a bonus, the DVD features Marilyn Manson's "Tainted Love" video featuring star Chyler Leigh in fetish gear:
