South Park - Did anyone watch the Gay Marriage Episode??? Here's the quick synopsis:
Mrs. Garrison realizes he still has feelings for Mr. Slave. But, Mr. Slave has moved on. He plans to marry his new love as soon as the Governor signs the same-sex marriage bill. Mrs. Garrison leads the charge against gay marriage. Did anyone watch it? So funny!!!  | |

Yup. He got a sex change last season - it was actually a really funny episode. Mr. Garrison decided to get a sex change and the kids didn't really understand. Kyle's dad told Kyle that Mr. Garrison felt like a woman on the inside so he needed plastic surgery to show how he felt on the outside. Kyle decided that he felt like a black kid on the inside so he got a "negroplasty". Kyle's dad started to think about it and how he always felt like a dolphin on the inside so he got plastic surgery to make him into a dolphin. | |

Nope. Kyle's not black anymore either. (Oh, and they used Mr. Garrison's testicles in Kyle's legs to make him taller and they used Mr. Garrison's scrotum to make Kyle's dad's dorsal fin!!!) Last night, the mayor was trying to calm the community and he said something like "Gay men want the same rights as every married couple and the other side want to keep the term 'marriage' in the traditional definition. So, going forward, straight people will have 'marriage' and gay people will be 'butt-buddies'. Straight people will be 'man and wife' and gay people will be 'butt-buddies'"....he kept going on and saying "butt-buddies" for every example! It was hilarious! | |

The part that I thought was very insightful was when Ms. Garrison was up at the podium in front of an anti-gay-marriage crowd and he was like "We've gotta the fags from getting married! There's only one way to do it: let's get a truck and some rope and have a good old fashioned 'fag-drag'" - when he says this, all the anti-gay-marriage people (who had been chanting "NO GAY MARRIAGE") looked kinda shocked and one redneck said "Uhhh.....well....we were thinking we would just go down to the governer's office and sign a petition". Ms. Garrison was SHOCKED because he thought all these people who were against gay marriage would want to do a "fag-drag" because they "hate" homosexuals. I think this is an example of P&R in a lot of ways. Proponents of gay marriage think that the opposition are driven by hate (like Ms. Garrison saying "let's go do a 'fag-drag'") when it's probably more like what the redneck was sayin....
