Halloween with Steadwood Good Evening All.....Hope you're enjoying the Halloween night.... 
...We've been busy in Steadwood land..Preparing for the evening... 
...So we thought we'd share the days events with you.....  
The day started with a family meeting to discuss what we were going to do.... That is with the noteable exception of Brother Redwood....Who said he was going to check on the mine... 
Ma said she would take the children for a short while ...just whilst myself and Pa Sandalwood began carving the pumpkin.... He had grown one specially and had kept it a closely guarded secret....I soon found out why... As you can see ....I am suitably shocked...  
However....the shock soon wears off and we get moving 
We get the top off 
and Pa starts carving away..... 
Meanwhile Ma Rosewood starts cooking with the Children..... 
But where is Brother Redwood..... 
....He's been far too long already...

Meanwhile..... Pa finishes the pumpkin pretty quickly.....but is glad to finish.... ...It is a big un... 
Ma has just finished making Toffee Apples with the Children... 
So we call the children over so they can carve theirs Well....Pa and I carve it...(you know how dangerous sharp knives can be....don't you boys and girls) 
...The Children just tell us what they want Look at the little dumplings....they're excited..... 
Ironwood gets a little over excited however, ....and tumbles head first.... 
Soon their pumpkin is finished.... But wait!.....That face looks a little familiar...
Where is Redwood...

It's starting to get close to supper now....and still no sign of Brother Redwood... 
...So Ma takes Ironwood and Yellowwood under her wing while we get off to try and find Brother Redwood... ...She's just put some potatos in the oven.... 
We're having a right old time here tring to find him.....But Wait!!! .....Who's this.....
Looks like he wanted to do his own secret pumpkin carving... but something isn't right here.....I wonder what it is.....
Meanwhile .... The Spuds are still cooking .....
Nearly time to eat..... 
Now ....let's see what Brother Redwood's up to..... Nice carving Brother Redwood....But That's a MELON ..  
...Well.....It's too late to change it now.....

Just before supper begins...we decide to display the pumpkins.....
.....er.....and.....er.....the carved Melon....
There aren't any ghosts or gouls about...are there Brother Redwood?.... 
Good then.... ...We'll light em up and turn the lights out.... 
Hold on!!!!! It's Frankenwood!!!!!.....
Well ther evening wouldn't be complete without a spot of apple bobbing 
And now finally to settle down to a hearty meal of Pumpkin ...Baked potatos....Melon and toffee apples.....all washed down with a barrel of the finest Irn Bru..... 
....Ahhhhh.....Bliss..... ....Happy Halloween Everyone...
