Yes, Carpenter had very little if anything to do with the Halloween movies other than 1,2 and H2O.

Carpenter had nothing to do with H20. He received writing credit (along with the late Debra Hill), because he wrote the original characters that they were based on. They'd asked him to write and/or direct it, but her turned it down. He didn't feel like there was anywhere else to do with the series. And I'm sure he'd be fine if anyone liked Halloween III - he produced it! lol His original idea for sequels was more along the lines of III. A different film each year - or couple of years - that was Halloween-themed and not necessarily with Michael Myers.


He should have just done Halloween themed flicks, but not billed them as sequels. III should have just been titled Season of the Witch, and not given the weight of being a Halloween movie. It certainly would have been given more respect.
