Huh uh, forget it! I ain't even gonna type it five times. There haven't been many great horror movies in the past fifteen years, but I think Candyman is one of them.

Bernard Rose (who helmed the creepy Paperhouse) directed this one, an amalgamation of a few different urban legends, namely the Bloody Mary story. Based on the short story by Clive Barker the film changes the location from a working class town in England to the Cabrini Green housing project in Chicago, and it finds depth in its horror pathos by providing commentary on the culture of poverty and race relations in the United States.

Virginia Madsen is effective, and Tony Todd makes one sexy and sympathetic horror villain. Kasi Lemmons would soon leave her all too limiting roles as the "black best friend" to make the stunning Eve's Bayou. Trivia: the director hired a hypnotist for some of Madsen's scenes (the fourth image is one of those scenes) to make her role more realistic. Legendary composer Philip Glass wrote and performed the beautiful and haunting score. Some images...

Yep good movie


Hellraiser is another classic from my youth. Ole' pinhead. What a hoot he is now proberly.


But candyman was mega scary as a kid.

Heck chucky frightened the fuck outta me too. As if they made a new one this year Horror sequels have no shame

oh lord that movie is so boring..predictable..actually..thought most horror movies are..and thats the fun of it..i guess..

this movie still is still hella creepy.
