My last kitty died in April at 18 years old. I'd had her since I was 11. She lived with me everywhere I've moved since I left my parents house at 18. I'm well aware. And counting on it! She had better be prepared herself to live a happy long life with me. 
It took me a while to be ready to have a new kitty, and when these pictures were emailed to me, it was sorta meant to be. aww  I was wondering what happened to your kitty when you mentioned your lease only allowed one.
I shat my pants when I read the title of this thread!  congrats, Carrie. I love cats to death. I just went outside and visited my own cat. She's a stray but we feed and pet and love her. She used to be very feral but she's calmed down in the past few years and adores us. Her name is - surprise - KITTY!

Also - it was so hard, you guys. When I went to take the kitty out of the arms of the woman who had been caring for her, she started crying. Tears were just rolling down her face. It was fairly obvious this was her favorite kitty of the pack and she was the first she had to let go of.  |

The right name will come to you. Just make sure you get a good brush for her. With the looks of her hair, she'll need a good brushing every day - maybe twice in summer. If you are an apartment dweller, make sure she has some grass to chew on, so she can rid herself of hairballs. It can be a problem with long-haired cats. | |

Congratulations Carrie!!! I've been wanting a kitty soooo bad lately but I really have to hold off. I'm not sure if they are allowed in my apartment building and I don't feel like I'm home enough to care for it all the time. They are such great pets!!! I'm jealous! | |

She looks awfully sweet! Just one question; will Shuga be an inside cat or an outside cat? I know you have a lil' appartment, but do not know what kind of area you live in? Lots of safe roaming for her outside? |
