RENT! Is anyone going to see Rent when it comes out?
I cannot wait! I never got to see it on stage, but I know the musical score. Everytime the commercial comes on I start singing. It looks like they chose a great cast .. I hope it rocks. ... "Five Hundred Twenty-Five Thousand Six Hundred Minutes How Do You Measure - Measure A Year? In Daylights - In Sunsets In Midnights - In Cups Of Coffee In Inches - In Miles In Laughter - In Strife ... How Do You Measure A Year In The Life" P.S. Please boycott the 50 Cent movie. If "Fiddy" does better at the box office than Rent, I will croak

No, unfortunately it's not coming out until Nov. 23rd. (unless you're in New York. It debut's there Nov. 17)
So, I guess my thread is a bit premature ... but they keep showing the commercial and they're driving me crazy!! I was just on Amazon.com to buy the CD... but can't decide between the original and the movie update .. which is a bit different..

Not sure if I'll see this or not. I think the music is . It's Broadway trying hard to be rock and failing.

But what about the story. The amazing characters. The life of the bohemian! So poetic. [Edited 10/30/05 15:08pm]

I went to see the play (with Mel B/Scary Spice) and was really impressed with the music. I always wanted to get the cast soundtrack, but held off and bought the movie one instead (Rosario Dawson cover). I'll definitely see the film next month.

I can't wait Really? I didn't know Taye Diggs was in the original, but looks like he was. I saw Rosario and thought the cast was all new. This should be great then since the original Broadway show won awards.

This should be great then since the original Broadway show won awards. did you know that Taye diggs is married to Idina Menzel? they met while in Rent together. Idina is the Maureen character and was the lead in Wicked, she won a Tony for Wicked and left the cast to film the Rent movie... and of course there is Jesse as Collins My daughter's best friend saw me yesterday and was like "hey Mama, we still goin to see Rent when it opens right" I said Oh HELL YEAH!!!
