I'm not 2the9's but as a tourist I would say a first trip should include: Times Square Empire State building - Go up at night right before close to avoid the lines and you get to see the city all lit up. Liberty/Ellis Island Tv show taping - pretty good chance if you sign up on Letterman's internet list you will get a call with last minute tickets. Finally you need to find a lovely little breafast cafe in Soho

yep he'll be there for a couple of days, not long. I don't think he'll have much time, so these things have to be stuff you can only see in NY.

Do you really? My husband is sick with the wish to NOT go. He reckons he will die of longing for us. It's a pretty hectic schedule he's got, a lot of time spent travelling (and he hates flying) and he HAS to go to show that he is committed to the project.

i don't know when you're husband will be there but he should try and go to first saturday at the brooklyn museum of art. it's held the first saturday of every month. it's crowded but it's free and fun. He should also try and get a look at the east village before it turns into condos and take a picture of CBGB before it closes and becomes a starbucks or some expensive boutique.
maybe, if he has the time, he can see a broadway show. that's always a nice thing to see. If he wants to go to a club or something, he can check out Cache on Thrusday nights. It's in Time's Square and has a good DJ and good dancing. There's usually a performance on thursdays as well. The Palour on Friday's is pretty cool, too. it's an irish pub upstairs and salsa dancing in the basement. Two different worlds in one building. And if the weather is cooperative, he should take a walk in central park or rent a bike and have a ride on the paths there. i hope he has fun!

There's an exhibit of Russian art through the ages at the Guggeheim that I want to see this weekend. And yeah, he will probablly want to see ground zero. If this is a business trip, might I recommend the mini-bar and room service?

and if he's real cheap, he can take the Q train to Brooklyn and see the statue of liberty if his veiw isn't blocked by a homeless crackhead singing 'we are the world'
and then he can have french toast at Juniors because cheesecake is overrated.
