Thank you for proving my point. There are a lot of people who look at beauty as being as closely "European" as possible, even with mixed people. Your description proved that. Don't be upset about it, it's really not your fault. You've been taught that ligther is better and prettier. There's nothing whatsoever in my post to prove your point and we obviously disagree on this issue. That's fine. You may be right about others, but I don't feel this way about it. My reasons are all there in my post and the conclusions you draw obviously aren't based on those but rather what you would like me to say to fit your viewpoint. I live in Thailand and I'm married to a Thai so I know all about the 'light skinned is better' issue, believe me, so please don't try to twist my clearly stated opinions to fit your theory. | |

You just don't get it, do you? You've been conditioned DAMN NEAR ALL YOUR LIFE to look at lighter being better that you don't even realize that you're doing EXACTLY what MOST people do. Like I said, it's not YOUR fault, it's the evil that men do and have done over hundreds of years - white men - that make us look at everything non-white with a lowered expectation. Why can you not accept that I just don't fit your theory? It's not complicated. As I said before, I am well aware of the whole issue regarding 'lighter is better' and see it everyday in this country. I'm being pretty clear here so it shouldn't be too difficult to accept that rather than being deluded or unaware of being conditioned, I simply disagree with you. If your theory about me in particular were true then surely I wouldn't have married a Thai woman, and if I had, surely it would've been a light-skinned Thai, which she isn't. You're just wrong about me, plain and simple. You may be right about others, but as far as I'm concerned, your theory doesn't apply. I have my feelings regarding attractiveness and they're simply not those you're suggesting. There's nothing more to say! | |
