So...here is the newest danger in my life. I spent 50 bucks on a new eletric blanket. Everything was just dandy last night but tonight... I fell asleep for 1 hour... woke up to smoke in my bedroom. Something fucking like went nuts...it must be damaged but the control almost exploded or something. I don't even still no what happened. My bedroom reeks now of smoke and burn smell...and now ill be freezing cold. You'd think the logic thing to do would just be go put the heat on but apparently thats no option for me. UGH the wonders of wasting money and time..and almost dying. So I leave you with... BEWARE OF HEAT! it's a nice thing.. but can kill you in the end fucked up

Take the blanket back to the store and get a refund.

If that smoke smell got into anything in your home use a vinegar/water solution to take it out...it works wonders...I've used it on everything that was in my house -- even my jewelery!

I've read a few stories about those electric blankets catching on fire. My mom used to have one, but after reading those stories she threw hers out. I thought they had recalled those blankets.
