I got a diamond ring for my last birthday. that was pretty goddamned romantic in my book.

And the wedding of course!


On his last 2 birthdays I've secretely made a cake (and hidden it in the dryer!) and had a surprise birthday party at 7am for him with the kids, with flowers and presents.
I get him chocolates, flowers and mushy cards on our anniversaries. Though on our next one we will be on opposite sides of the world - I will have to think of something special to do - maybe a special surprise in his suitcase?

Oooh! I have forgotten THE most romantic thing - having songs written about me

When I proposed to my wife I suppose. It's a long story but basically we met in a lecture room at a university where I was working and she was studying. Two years later I pusuaded an X collegue and friend to book the same lecture room so i could take her there to propose.

There a quite a few things, but some that stand out the most were, for my birthday i had come home from work to find my apartment lit with candles and my presents all situated beautifully with my favorite candy in a big bowl laid out... and balloons all over and a special cake for me.. my favorite.. Carrot cake! YUM!

He also suprised me with a night at a great hotel and dinner and laying by the pool..... then took me to the zoo! He was so great!

My man has also written me poems about he and I and about me in general.. I always thought that was so special since nobody ever wrote anything about me before.

Years ago, Valentines day, went up to a boyfriend's job in the middle of the night before he got off work. I had a key to his car & I put a bunch of shit in his passenger seat so when he came out to go home he'd already have his gifts. We were young so it was some goofy shit - a bear, probably candy & shit, I think some silk drawz or something

I like doing thoughtful shit, just haven't met anyone worth doing thoughtful shit for lately
