As usual, another nerdy thread dedicated to LOST...

What did you other nerds think of the episode?

They didn't tell us much....

So..."the others" are those people that Jin and the big dude were hiding from? They all looked muddy...maybe they are a group from the back of the plane that went apeshit on the island. Some of them had on normal, modern-looking clothing...there must be a kid among them because of the one carrying a teddy bear.

And I missed what the big guy (please tell me his name) said to Michael right before Michael decided to go with them. I am starting to like Michael less and less. I understand that his kid is missing, but he was so rude to Jin, who is just trying to help him.

I like Michelle Rodriguez's character a little more although she's still kind of a bitch...I think it's the eternal snarl on her face.

The backstory of Jin and Son was very sweet; I view Jin differently now, because before, the only backstory they gave us is that he used to be in some sort of mob.

They gave us the necessary appearance of Jack, talking to Son about her lost ring, but I'm glad they stuck to Sawyer, Jin, and Michael last night...we needed more information. I guess things in the hatch have stabilized.

I liked the episode too. Sun is one of my favorites...and such a good actress too. The story telling is getting tighter. No, we didn't learn much on this one except for the guys name misterecho...or echo I think his name is. And how many "others" there might be. Oh and the back end plane survivors have a radio... could they be the ones Boone heard before the drug plane in the trees came down?

I have a feeling the others on the island are the researchers we saw in the orientation movie. I think it's important to distinguish the different bands of people we are coming across.

Front End Plane Survivors - Jack, Locke, Kate etc...there are about 40 left from 48

Back End Plane Survivors - Anaa Lucia, Libby and Echo...there appear to be 9 or so left from 23.

The Others - Ethan Rom, The Boat People Who took Walt...I am guessing they are the ones who have killed most of the back end plane survivors, kidnapped Claire, kidnapped Danielles baby (who would be 16 by now)

Misc. - So far Danielle Rousseau and Desmond are the only ones we have seen so far. There are also some we know about but they are dead...Desmonds ex bunker partner, Danielles crew, and Adam and Eve found in the caves. We may come upon the Drug Plane survivors..maybe.

I think mr echo is a similar character to Locke...I think since he landed on the island he has special powers. I mean..Mr Echo? wierd.
I don't think mr echo said anything right before michael decided to go with them..they were argueing..mr echo said somthing like you don't know what they are capable of...and then he just stared at him for a sec and michael changed his mind...
oh and the "mob" that jin works for is Son's family!
yah..annalousia (sp?) needs to calm the F down. I'm begining to hate her character cause she's just too much...I think they'll mellow her out though.

Woah, that is helpful...it's easy to forget just how many people we have seen and who are on the island! I wonder where Desmond's crazy ass ran off to...where could he go? I bet he's got a wealth of info that will be revealed later on. The people on the boat who took Walt didn't look very much like researchers...they looked like scruffy homeless pirates.

I don't think the kid is Danielle's...her child is about 16 years old.

I think Ana Lucia is going to turn out gay. They don't have a gay character on there yet. And it's a lot easier doing the lesbain thing on TV that a gay male. I just hope that they don't do the "lesbian kiss" that is so lame on other TV shows.

Mr. Echo does seem to be a little out there. Maybe he is a former Other, since he knows what those people are capable of.

When Jin fell down the bank and saw the dead body, he asked "the Others?" Mr Echo said, "Yes." He said the dead person's name. This leads me to believe that Mr. Echo's group once knew who the "Others were.

It's hard to tell. But there was some resemblence to the guy in the orientation film and the guy wha says to the rafties...Give us the boy. They both had full on beards.

There have been other "similarities" between other characters like Lockes Father and the guy who funded the Dharma initiative. As well as Randy from Cluckys and The Box Co (which has been determined that it was the same actor and "name" Randy.

yes I know daniells kid is about 16 but who ever was dragging that teddy bear was no small child either...I'm sure this said 16 year old (and btw...she's been there 16 years but had the baby at a later date..the child could be anywhere from 10 to 15..right?) is certainly messed up in the head...could still carry a teddy bear if that's all they ever had...
NO! I hope anna is not gay! only because I hadn't even thought of that! lol! I thought she was supposed to be a love interest for sawyer or jack...now that kate kinda freaked about not saying good by to sawyer I wonder if it will be kate/sawyer and anna/jack? I wonder who dies next week? I doubt it will be a main character...prolly one of the new ones but..I hope it's not bernard!

You are correct Danielle didn't say how long between her crash and the pregnancy was...though we are led to believe that it's been about that long. As she mentions her crew got sick quickly and she changes the number transmission to something that distress call. We'll just have to see who exactly yhe Others are.

Next week? Try 3 WEEKS! Next airdate is Nov 9

We got ripped off...they didn't show too much. The next episode looks interesting, I hope we see Walt too. Jin is catching on with his English. Poor Sawyer, I think the tough girls people are turning against her..why is she so controlling... "Are you gay?" "funny"

I wonder how folks can judge this show on an episode by episode basis. What ever happened to being committed to a show? Maybe it's me...but I am very invested into the characters and the show. The characters are what the show is really about. Their growth post crash. It's gonna take a few bad episodes or a shark or two jumping for me to start to against this show.



IMO TV has been BAD for a long time It's shows like this that help raise the bar and force the networks to stop giving us JUNK. Pretty Boys and Pretty Girls acting dumber than doorknobs faking reality and being bitchy and backstabbing so that they can get thier puny 5 min of fame and marry someone they could care less for...only to have said marriage annuled and therefore creating more NON NEWS fodder and regaling themselves into a D-List celebrity.

I don't think that's true. Season one was new...so everything you saw was new. But think about what you really saw and how long it took to get there.
