nod Pretty much. lol I love old lady names. It seems every other young girl I come into contact with is either a Britney, Morgan, Taylor, etc. Boring names...kinda like Dan.

I like seeing girls with guy names too. I doubt people would react the same way when they see a guy with a girl's name....a boy named Daisy lol

Or a boy named Sue. wink

Names that are often female in some parts of the world are appealing to me as boy's names. Shannon, Leslie, Tanqueray.

I like Shannon for a boy.....I personally think of that one as a unisex name.

I don't like boys names on girls for exactly that reason. I dislike them out of principle, I guess.

That said, I refuse to think of Logan, Michael, and Jason as names for cute little girls, no matter what. I'm not one to hold onto gender roles just for the sake of it, and in fact I think everyone would be better off without them, but names like those above are just so butch I can't think of them as anything but boy's names. Logan to me is Wolverine of the X-Men, not some vision of pink lace.

I think names that have traditonally been boys' names and more recently co-opted for girls like Lindsay, Ashley, Shannon, etc. would be darned cute for a boy, but I'm no fan of them as girl's names. shrug smile

my grandma on my mom's side, her name was viola. biggrin

as for favorite names, i pretty much steer towards the more unusual ones (not "ghettofied" ones). and i wouldn't change my name for the world; i dunno if my folks had any other names in mind before they named me.

Logan and Michael I like for girls, but yeah Jason seems to be pushing it a little. I grew up with a boy named Ashley.....no one ever pointed out his name either. Now that you've mentioned it those names do sound like they would've originally been boy names.

notoriousj

my actual name is Jessica Deanne Copeland. I was named after my grandfather his name was Jesse Dean. Which is all well and good, but I always hate it when people call me jessie. People always call me Jess and my mother is the only one who calls me Jessica and she only does that when she was mad at me. 27 years old and I still get in trouble with my mother... I also hated it when I was in school because there were 5 other Jessicas in my class besides me. So its pretty common of a name and I don't like that.

If I was to change my name I would make it....Lucy....and my favorite name for a boy is Kirby.
