Mine was to Seattle, Washington at about age 6 or 7 to visit my grandma. Her house was heaven when I was younger.

Either to the States (probably New York) or to Greece, I can't remember which came first. I must have been six or seven during both trips and the main thing I remember from New York was that we had breakfast cereal with marshmallows in it. I'd never seen such wonderful madness before. In Greece I remember I started a bottle cap collection that eventually contained at least four caps.

I loved visiting my great-grandparents house. It seemed like there was an endless amount of stuff to explore. They always had the best candy from Brachs. Oh yeah and Werthers Original chews.

Ex-Moderator | I was 18 and I flew to New Mexico to visit my boyfriend's parents. It was an awful, awful trip. Flight was good, though. My parents have never been travelers. The furthest my brother has been away from Mpls is Chicago and he drove there. he's 35 and never been on a plane.
My next trip was flying alone to New York. My mom freaked. I've been a travel junky ever since. |

When I was young, my dad had just bought a Beechcraft Bonanza (?)
Something like this: I think that's what it was called. Anyway, as a baby, my parents would take me flying all the time, and I would always throw up in my mom's lap. We went everywhere in CA, so I can't tell you where I was first. I guess I could ask my mom.

Yeah, but when I was a kid, I didn't realize how dangerous it can be. I remember we were flying somewhere to have lunch with my dad's friends, so it must not have been that far. The only thing is that there were storms all around us, and we flew without being able to see anything the whole way. It was freaky, and there was so much turbulance, my mom hit her head on the ceiling more than once. Years later, I asked my dad how bad it really was, and he said that there was so much wind shear, he kept it to himself that he was worried we would crash.

In 1975 at the age of two. I flew from Italy, my birthplace, to USA. I don't remember it, but I'm sure it was frightening.

The summer after 2nd grade my dad spent his bonus on a trip to Hawaii for all of us. I remember I took my platypus stuffed animal (all decked out in camo) on the plane and I played card games with my sisters the whole way there. I was totally bored.
We went back to Hawaii five years later. Our plane was delayed 12 hours and my sisters and I were on the news (I was shown punching my older sister. We were playing card games on the floor of the airport. Notice a pattern?) My parents were all worried about my grandmother, who was flying from Japan to Hawaii and was supposed to have met us at the airport. We couldn't get in touch with her and let her know that the flight was majorly delayed and she doesn't speak a word of English. It turned out that a flight attendant from JAL helped her to the hotel. whew! We took off at 11pm and my little sister fell asleep immediately. She was very cold but dead asleep so I covered her up and pulled her socks way up to keep her warm. I mean, like, where is the sun?

First plane ride.....
I was 5 years old. It was a trip from San Jose to Los Angeles. We had to land in Burbank. We got caught in a hail storm. One of the stewardesses threw up, the lights in the cabin were flashing off and on. The plane was going from side to side. I kept telling my dad "I want to get down, I want to get down." That is why I hate to fly. M MyeternalgrattitudetoPhil&Val.Herman said "We want sweaty truckers at the truck stop!
