Daniel Craig named as the next James Bond Friday October 14, 12:31 PM


LONDON (Reuters) - English actor Daniel Craig has been chosen to succeed Pierce Brosnan as the next James Bond, the film franchise's backers announced on Friday, ending months of speculation over who would play the world's most famous spy.

Craig, 37, who had been the favourite to become the sixth official Bond, was confirmed at a news conference in London. The first blond Bond was one of dozens of actors to be linked with the role, including Clive Owen, Jude Law, Hugh Jackman and Brosnan himself. The next Bond film is "Casino Royale".

Very upset that Pierce Brosnan did NOT get to portray Bond in one final film.

He got screwed by NBC when they wouldn't allow him to play Bond becuase of Remington Steele and he gets the shaft by the Bond producers after they string him along with regards to his 5th film.....


Now, I'm going to have to check out layer cake to see Mr. Craig in action.
