I found him outside my door... about 4-5 months ago. The mother seemed liked a stray... he was left behind... somewhat dehydrated. Although now that I think about it... and now that I know, he is deaf... can't hear a thing. He is one special cat. He is getting a bath today. ~Smile.

Yes. I am afraid you have to hand that kittie in. My cats need a new mate! Her hairs blend better with my furniture too.

I was covering him up with pillows, he loves to dive into my pillows and bury himself, he is so full of energy. Anyways... I was peeking into an open part of the pillows and his claw came out... 'playing of course', although it got me in the nostril. Ouch... I heard/felt the flesh scratch away and blood began. I washed it will all I could find... antiseptics... everyday I see children at work with Cellulitis and many from dog bites, etc. Yikes! He is getting his nails trimmed today, bigtime.

A large majority of cats that are completely white are born deaf. Especially if they have blue eyes or different colored eyes. My aunt had three, all white cats, on her ranch. The one was the mother... they are usually bad mom's because they can't hear their kittens. The other two were kittens of that mother, one born with blue eyes and the other with different colored eyes. The one with all blue eyes was completely deaf, the one with different colored eyes was only deaf on the side that had the blue eye. The other ear worked fine. Apparently it has to do with a gene that is passed along to cats with all white fur, and for some reason eye color plays a factor in it, as well. The mom is still around, still having kittens, unfortunately, the other two died because one didn't hear a car coming and the other didn't hear a horse hoof. They don't usually make it if they're left outside, simply because they can't protect themselves from things they don't know are coming. So, 'tis good you two found one another.

Yes, I am aware of this, a bit similar to albinism. The mother of this cat was completely white... although had the the same color of eyes, which I blieve are green, I have not seen her for months. Interesting take... although I have done some really loud tests (myself), such as starting a blender right near him... the vacuum cleaner does not phase him... really nothing does so far.

Interesting take... although I have done some really loud tests (myself), such as starting a blender right near him... the vacuum cleaner does not phase him... really nothing does so far. The weird thing is that albino cats don't usually carry the gene and rarely are they deaf! You'd think they'd be the ones most affected. *shrug* It sounds like he's deaf in both ears, eh? I was just curious if your kitten was the same as my aunts with the different colored eyes, if maybe it usually only affects the blue eyed side. It sounds like that doesn't matter so much. Anyway... like I said. Very cute kitten!
