Tahitian Noni juice?

Is anyone here drinking Tahitian Noni currently? Has anyone here used it in the past or know someone who has? Just curious?
My mom drinks it and says it gives here energy. My Aunt is drinking it and she has lung cancer. She says it helps with her chemotherapy side effects.
I hope it helps her get through her entire treatment and keep her feeling well.
Just thought I would see if any of you have any stories about the Noni.

I am going to start drinking it to see if it helps with my energy and sinus infections.

Thanks!

peace

Yes, it is expensive nod

My mom just became a distributor since so many of us in the family have been taking it. $35 a bottle about a months supply.
But, when you figure how much I have spent in the last 6 weeks for my sinus infections, it is well over $300 at this point. That includes RX's, dr visits and the CT scan. I am being generous quoting the cost at $300, I am sure.
So, I figured that maybe this will help me feel better since I have been on antibiotics for 6 wks.

I just got an update from my Aunt that has lung cancer. They cannot operate so she has to do the chemo and pray that it keeps it from getting worse. Sadly, it had already spread to her adrenal glands and lymph nodes before she found out that she had lung cancer. She just had her 1st scan since her chemo started and the cancer has shrunk in her lymph nodes and adrenal glands. My aunt says it is the Noni.. Whatever makes her feel better, that's what I say. They only gave her a year to live so she can believe whatever she wants to at this point...

My brother-in-law drinks Noni for his cluster headaches. He swears it's helping him. I don't know how it can help all the different problems that it claims to help.It probably can't hurt though and if they think it works, then it's probably worth the money.
I think Nonis are some kind of tropical fruit.

This is the stuff i was talkin about. lol

Some people swear by it, but it's hella expensive!

Personally, i think it's a snake oil, but placebos have been known to cure people. I guess if you believe it works it will.

That's terrible-

My Aunt has the best attitude right now but we think she might be in denial. She has not known for very long. Since they cannot operate, it does not leave many options.

To be honest Shanti, when they told my mother that the cancer had moved into her brain, she also had a GREAT attitude. Before she was so nervous and scared but I think there was some acceptance so her attitude had changed. She was so peaceful the last two weeks vs all the crap with chemo and meds.

your aunt maybe at peace.

We hear so much about other cancers and yet more ppl die of lung cancer than all the other cancers combined. sad

I am concerned about my Aunt because she just started her chemo probably 2 months ago. She is feeling great and before this recent scan she was convinced that when she got the results it was going to show that it was gone. Kind of an unrealistic expectation. Her and my Uncle are at different stages right now. My Uncle is angry and he has started drinking more, which he already drank too much in my opinion.
If you do not mind me asking, how long did your mom live with the lung cancer? (you can org note me) You hear so much about ppl having and dying of lung cancer these days. My Aunt is 53 yrs old and they told her she had about a year without chemo and a year and a few months with the chemo. She was a smoker too....
Thanks for sharing your difficult story.

Noni is being marketed through a pyramid scheme as a cure all. There are quite a few testemonials swearing it helps cure things. A good friend of mine is a distributor making a sizable income off of it. He even has a myspace site for it. He has been trying to get me in as a seller too... it tastes like crap, like concentrated sour bitter fruit juice. The fruit that it comes from smells like "shit". But you are supposed to water it down to drink it. It doesn't taste like wine to me!

whenever i was sick I drank it, but I didn't feel anything... maybe it takes time if it really works.

My thought is that they claim it helps too many different problems, I don't believe anything that claims to help everything from arthritis to cancer .I saw a different brand of Noni in the health food section of a supermarket that was only $15 a bottle. I think it's suppposed to take a few weeks to really kick in, but I'm not going to try it to find out.

My mother was diagnosed in May of 2003 and died Feb 2004. At the time of diagnosis, it had already spread to her liver. The chemo was actually clearing up the cancer in her lung but not in her liver. At the end of Jan 2004, that's when we found out the cancer has spread to her brain. My mother smoked as well but had stopped in the early 1990's.

I'll just say that even though the odds were against my mother, I still believed for her healing. I think your Aunt is just being positive which is a VERY good thing because chemo sucks. So just stay positive with her. She could be in the 5-10% that beats it. nod

I don't know if it helps.
My dad has cancer too, he tried it, like many other drinks. He got it from a friend. It didn't work well though, he still has cancer.

Thanks for the info. My Aunt has suprised all of the ppl at the treatment center because she has been feeling good since starting the Noni and her bloodwork has come back better then expected. Everyone there has been asking her what her secret is...
Like I said, her husband is in the angry stages which does not help my Aunt.

Again, I am so sorry for you having to lose your mom to cancer like that. I pray that I never have to endure that but I hope I can remain strong if and when I do.

My Aunt is just taking it to help her chemo side effects. She says that it keeps the metal taste from her mouth and she does not get sick anymore either. It helps make her life a little more livable during her chemo.
Sorry to hear about your dad. hug
