I have a WORM..could you help??? Hey Folks,
I started up my PC tonight, and McAfee found a worm called W32/Poebot.dam I have tried to clean, quaretine and delete the file, but it is not able to do any of those. So...I logged into Symantec, tried an online scan with that, and it didn't even detect the virus at all I have logged into McAfee support, and was directed via an online assist to a page to deal with new viruses etc.....and guess what....all services are closed for today Is there anything I could do here, or is the best option to just wait until tomorrow and see if McAfee can sort it :grrrrr: Mada, Yeah thats me. AND WHAT

It's not a good idea to run two different Antivirus programs simultaneously. If you're going to try something like AVG, you should take McAfee off first.
There's a tool I came across that will remove several recent viruses/worms, and among the list is poebot. Might be worth trying... http://www.softpedia.com/...tool.shtml "The F-Bot utility disinfects computers infected with all known by March 2005 variants of the following backdoors: · Wootbot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.Wootbot) · Agobot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.Agobot) · Forbot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.Forbot) · Rbot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.Rbot) · Spybot (also known as Worm.P2P.Spybot) · IRCBot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.IRCBot) · SDBot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.SdBot) · Poebot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.Poebot) · Codbot (also known as Backdoor.Win32.Codbot) The F-Bot utility can also disinfect computers that are infected with new variants of these backdoors, however disinfection will only work if these variants are detected generically by AVP engine."
