Last Nights Episode of LOST: 10/5/2005

I can't seem to get enough of the show. Last night, the episode entitled "Orientation" Have us more information about the pourpose of the hatch. It is some kind of experiment called the Swan.We learn more about the background of Locke. We finally meet the "others" which are more survivors of the plane crash.

... and Hurley finds the food locker!

What did you think of the episode?

I'm not sure the other survivors are the true "the others" because they would have only been there for 40 days as well. They were just mistaken for them.

I think it is the type of series where you have too watch from Ep. 1 to get it. Get your hands on Season One Dvd.

You could be right about the others. I only assumed that because Jin called them the other. I think the black man that opened the trap is Rose's husband.

Yeah, I womder that too. I think the people who took Walt are the "others" and I think they associated with the "end of the world" senario.

I wish they would have just let that stupid clock run out. How the fuck is the world gonna end from a little hatch on some godforsaken island? I think Jack was right, that it was some sort of kooky psych experiment.

Another issue I had was with Jack and Desmond's dialogue. It just wasn't right. I didn't really get why Jack was so angry with Desmond, and also why they weren't more amazed that they were seeing each other again.

Michelle Rodriguez is a bitch. She has Sawyer's gun now, but there were loads of gun and ammo in the hatch.

I think Locke knows more about the stuff going on in the hatch than anyone else. He's acting funny.

It is very likely that we will see more of the Jack & Desmond dynamic in further flash backs. Jack knows something too; Why was he against the resetting of the clock and why does he seem to hate Desmond so much?

Yeah Locke knows more, problably too much.

I thought the episode was fantastic. Went beyond What I thought it was.

It's the numbers that lead you there

So this foundation (maybe govt run) is set up for some sort of Mensa/Psychic/Something group of people who want to form a free thinking society. So they make or go to this island to do that. It's some sort of Psychic commune. I'm thinking it's a bunch of people who are like Walt. Kinda like the special school the mutants had in X-Files. A place to develop thier special abilities away from the general populace. This would explain how they can be somewhere at one point and then not be there...the whispers...and their super strength.

Something goes terribly wrong...people get sick and are not allowed off the island because they are contaminated. A chamber gets made with the computer inside and the only way to control the sickness from leaving the island is by entering in the numbers (maybe it controls the security system that stops people from leaving the island). Walt could be the key to stop the sickness.

They need people to run the computer, so they set up the transmission to lure people to the island. I don't think you can normally get to the island, as it could be protected somehow or manipulated in time somehow. The only one to get there by accident would be Hurley...but that's because he used the numbers, which I'm willing to bet are VERY important like the answer to Pi or something.

So the others are these hippie psychic commune folks.

I think the others (that rousseau mentions) are those people who wanted to go and do research/experiments at this facility.

He calls them others because he "thinks" they are.

And yes I think the black guy is Rose's husband.

Jack needs to take a dirt nap!

So he's having a hard time believing anything...

He crashes on an island practically unscathed. There are polar bears on a tropical island. He sees dead people...encounters wierd people...and even sees a slave ship. There's even a mysterious black wisp that is a security system for the island. And if that aint enough to make him go hmmmmm... There's a hatch with some funny numbers on it and a crazy guy below who punches in numbers into an old computer every 108 minutes and even shows him a film on why he does so.

Yet...Yet..YET...you have a hard time believing anything is amiss? What's Jacks deal?

I thought the previews for next week were good, including Jin saying a line in perfect English. Is that a dream sequence? Anyway, great show as always.

Like I said.... Jack knows something, he knows something to do with Desmond. There is something behind that relationship. Desmond says "see you in another life.

I wonder if they will develop something to reset the clock automatically. I also think there is a city where the "creators" of the Swan project are controling things on the island.

He said that the last time they met. I think it's something Desond says in general.

Yes, I remember that, On the stairs, after he tended to jack's ankle. When he said "see you in another life" I think he really meant it. I think, for some reason, Desmond knew he would see Jack again.

I wish we could see what is going on in the PRESENT in the real world - not the flashbacks, not the island - but the families and friends of these people who are stranded...who haven't heard from their loved ones and have no clue where they are...this would probably bring in an unnecessary dynamic but I think it would just be interesting to see.

Jack and Desmond DEFINITELY had something more going on - something is off about their relationship. Their initial meeting in the stadium was way, way, too trivial in light of the enormity of the crash, island, and hatch.

I have a feeling that story will materialize in season 3. That would be very interesting. Imagine if the survivors family members are somehow in on the whole experiment, if it is an experiment.

I think that the experiment theory is completely plausible. It would tie in with today's society and its paranoia of big brother watching us, reality television, and the works. It would be very relevant.

I LOVED last night's episode.

I don't know why since in the past I've been annoyed every time the show gives us an "answer" that begs 10 more questions. But last night worked for me. The twist with Michelle Rodriguez was a genuine surprise to me. And, I feel like Jack finally giving in and pressing the button was a sign that he was redy to start accepting that something "more" is happening on this island. The tension in the woom up thru Jack pushed the button worked for me. I had a genuine sense at the end of a loss of some hope and darkness. It's not often that TV leaves me with this type of feeling.

GOOD STUFF.

ps-I still think Locke is bad. smile

Yeah Ana Lucia did surprise me too. Funny we're sitting there and my friend, a girl turns to me and says "she's lying". I'm like "you're a girl...you'd probably know" smile LOVE Sawyers "you got a better idea cupcake?" lol Already dishing out the nicknames! Love that guy!

I don't think Locke is bad but he is hell bent on his destiny. I think he'll be fine as one of the people to watch the clock.

DING DONG! REPLACEMENTS ARE HERE!

And Jack needs a slap in the face! And if they replay the Jack/Locke destiny scene one more time...I'm gonna scream!
