I had a dream about Madonna, the other day.

She lived in a castle in Scotland. It was sunny and she was showing me around her garden which was huge. Sean Connery was playing golf in her back garden and I waved at him but he pretended to ignore us.

Yes, almost all the time. I sing when I feel good. I have always musicians friends. I wrote text and some songs, but it's buried in a closet. I dance with my dog, sing with my family old hebrew songs, sing with my boyfriend, with my daughter by phone (she's 9 and wants to be an actress), i send her tracks, she sings back...

But that's all. When I see what's on tv or on radio, it hurts. But I'm much too shy to sing in front of other people, except if drunk or desperate. whistle

I desperately wanted to become a star. I have been daydreaming about it till late puberty but I think I'm okay now.lol

I played guitar for 10 years (school of music) and I even bought an electric guitar and amplifier. I desperately wanted to be in a band and with 2 classmates we decided to start rehearsing. It didn't work.

A few years later I realized that I didn't have the talent to be a professional guitarist and I quit the idea of becoming famous. My songwriting skills suck by the way.

When I was a teenager, I started writing lyrics with a friend of mine. But when I read them now, I'm quite ashamed, coz they were either pieces of existing lyrics of bands we liked, or they were total crap. Only the ones that came from the heart are alright.
Plain texts and putting my emotions, feelings and thoughts into words are no challenge for me, but it was the rhyming that I wasn't very good at, and the idea of following a song structure.

We were also going to form a band, we had it all figured out. I was going to be the singer cool ! (I'm not too bad at it, you see.) But when it should have happened, it didn't, and the idea died a quiet dead.

I still fantasize about going on a stage and entertain the people with something I would love doing, though. Must be an amazing feeling, although I realize that it undoubtly brings a lot of stress and dissappointments with it.

Oh well smile I still write texts regularly. Sometimes fiction, other times dreams or fantasies. I get a lot from that, as do some other people...

I have never really had aspirations to myself be a rock star or anything...which is surprising seeing what a huge part of my personality and life music has been since a very, very young age

I've had dreams, however, about Gene Simmons in particular... one that immediately comes to mind is years ago I dreamt I babysat his children who were then quite young. I dreamt that after he and Shannon (their Mum) got home I stayed and talked to them all for a long time and got to know them. it was awesome!

after that though was a dream that I met Gene at a big Theatre after a solo show (it wasn't a Kiss show at all) a couple of years later the dream literally came true I walked into the theatre to see his "Speaking in Tongues" tour in Sydney and immediately recognised the threate boxed freaky! I knew I'd somehow wind up getting his autograph that night and a photo and I did! mr.green

When I was a kid, that's all I wanted. I learned to play guitar (and piano) and played in bands (sang, too).

As I got older, I realized that - even at superstar level (and the kind of music I was interested in writing certainly did not lend itself to accumulating that kind of audience) - it means dragging your ass around the world every couple of years and being away from friends and family. It's also a tremendous crapshoot as to whether you'll make it (talent or not) and, these days, sustaining a career in an increasingly fickle music industry is incredibly difficult.

I still play for fun, but definitely not sorry I didn't pursue it.
