Past experiemces of Halloween

OK, you might not know this, but even though Halloween has been trying to get off the ground here in Australia for a number of years, it's still a bit of a non-event.

Last year I bought a packet of mixed lollies just in case, but NOT ONE kid came trick or treating.

The year before that, 3 kids from down the road rang our doorbell at 9pm. All our house lights were off and I was in bed reading, with no idea it was Halloween. So I open the door, "trick or treat" they say, wearing their school uniforms. I ask them "where's your costume?" and they just stood there, waiting expectantly.

My husband had by this stage found a couple of linty cough lollies to give them from the bottom of our fruit bowl that we'd brought back from Argentina in 2001.

Pathetic! disbelief

lol

I'm sure things are much more exciting where you live!

Mach

i was sitting @ a soccer game last night listening to 2 young ladys talking about halloween (( i live in the bible belt ...southern USA ))

anyway ... i was amazed at the lack of understanding they had about it ...

their comments were based on hollywood movies and negitive christian teachings

i think many people here do not know of the true traditions ... and what the real meanings are that surround this holiday
