How hard is it to get something simple right?

I went to this great mexican place for lunch...take out. I ordered my usual a grilled tostada with steak.

I got it back and there was no steak on it. This is like the 2nd time in a row it has happened.

So I took it back. And the guy was like..."You want me to just put meat on it or make you a new one?" I asked for a new one and got the steak part correct...but there is no tostada it's just salad in a box. pissed

I called them back and told them about it...and told them not to go so fast as they are majorly messing up the orders. I got a free lunch out of it...but still. sigh

I only send food back if it's inedible. If I get the wrong order, I just eat whatever I'm given anyway.

I feel sorry for anybody whom has to serve others for a living.

hug You an angel.

For me, if it's not too far away, I take it back.

Well, that's very kind of you, but you shouldn't settle for something you didn't order. Politely point out that the order is incorrect and get what you wanted!

i'd take it back. if its too far i'd call and complain, especially a steak taco with no steak! omfg spaceboy i'm sorry for your inconvenience. i have sympathy for people who serve others (i've done it for quite sometime) but messing up food is a nono no no no!

Exactly. If it's what you do...do it right. I used to serve people and if someone came to me that I got it wrong (rarely) I fixed it properly the second time. There was no THIRD time.

Since the place is close, I took it back. I mean I paid for the extra stuff...I should GET the extra stuff. And to go back there with looks from the one who took my order "It's not my fault" when she did this before. rolleyes and the guy who made it the second time. I told him what it was. The tostada is the essential piece of the order...it's the first thing you put in the box.

Anxiety

the only time i will, without a second thought, send food back is when it comes out with meat on it. that happens every now and again, and i have no problem letting the waiter know that i'm a 17-year vegetarian, so there must be some kind of mistake.

beyond that, i don't get too fussy. i used to be a waiter, and i've seen some of the dumb-ass things customers would do. and i know some of the things waiters do with those dumb-asse's food! lol

Sound like they hired all the owner's relatives.

It reminds me of a coney island I used to go to for lunch owned by this Greek guy. All the employees were young and Greek. They all moved like Uncle Oscar is not going to fire me.

I'd get a Greek salad with two slices of beets on it!! They probably got kicked out of Greece for serving salad with only two beet slices! On any given day the breakfast dishes are still on the tables at 11:00 am when the lunch crowd starts to show up. Needless to say they went out of business.
