Snake Eats Alligator and Bursts Open This recently happened in the Florida Everglades. A 13-foot Burmese python attempted to swallow a 6-foot American alligator, resulting in both animals being found dead with the gator's hind end protruding from the snake's burst midsection. It isn't clear whether the python was stretched too far trying to swallow the gator, or the gator clawed a hole in the python with its back legs as the snake tried to ingest it. It isn't even clear whether the gator was still alive at the time the snake encountered it.

I read folks down in Florida are releasing their pet pythons into the wild(because they get too big), and it's screwing up the ecosystem. Stupid people and their exotic pets.

Stupid people and their exotic pets. too many people take on the responsibility of owning an exotic pet without really knowing what they're getting themselves into. If you're going to go that route with pet ownership do lots and lots of research and make sure you have the capability to deal with these kinds of animals. Moral of the story: Don't buy an exotic pet just because you want to be "cool".

Nature didn't place pythons and alligators in the same habitat. This is man messing with nature. Today it's alligators bursting out of snakes, tomorrow it will be monster tornadoes in California. Just like in 'The Day After Tomorrow' movie.
