Reincarnate

Animal Welfare - UK Orgers Act Now

This ad has been running in the national press this week:

Mackie was both elderly and neglected. Flea-ridden and undernourished, he evidently needed urgent care. Yet as the law stands, all we could do was to advise the owner. We couldn't act until Mackie had become emaciated and bent with back pain. This was clear proof of suffering.

Unfortunately by that time, Machie had to be put to sleep. Clearly, the Protection of Animals Act 1911 can fall short of protecting pets such as Mackie.

The law requires such obvious evidence of suffering that we are often left powerless until it is simply too late. That is why we need a new law, The Animal Welfare Bill, to compel owners to provide a basic duty of care for their pets.

Please write to urge your MP to support the new bill. You can do this directly or on our website at www.rspca.org.uk/actnow.

The need is urgent, evidently.

Please email these words to your animal-loving friends and ask them to contact their local MP.

The law does need to be changed. They also need to change the laws about those that puppy farm in the UK when looking into adopting a dog I was horrified how wide spread it is and how those that try to protect animal could do nothing as laws needed to be changed.

This is Jelly a 8 years old who's teeth are like hell, Jelly has sore dry eyes that hurt to open and shut. At last no more pups, instead given to us by puppy farmer. Jelly is8 years old (middle age for a yorkie) and she is such a sorry sight she must think her life is over. cry

This is Gaze a 16 month westie, who had two litters but is not a good mum, so not wanted by puppy farmer. cry

Prize is a 3 year old unwanted puppy farm breeding bischon bitch, not producing enough so not wanted. shake
