You're gonna laugh, but DC comics did a great Space Ghost mini-series last year that told his origin. It was done completely seriously, and (believe it or not) was quite good!

I think I'm showing my age here, but does anybody remember ARK II? I remember it used to broadcast on Saturday mornings. It was about a crew of four: man,woman, teenage boy, & an intelligent chimp! They would travel around the planet in a futuristic RV called the ARK II & have many adventures.I don't think it lasted beyond one season.The woman was played by an asian actres.Being asian myself, I thought this was cool since it was rare to see asians on TV back than.Wait a minute it's rare to see asians now,dammit nevermind.
