A family or Career?

Ibelieve as a woman you have to choose which path you want to take in life. It's really hard to be a career woman and the stay at wife taking care of the kids. Haven't y'all notice how really succesful woman don't end up getting married ? Trya Bank, Condolesa Rice, Oprah Witfery. I just so happen to look up all these woman and think they're really smart bitches that figure out the system haha. I just made the decision I was would be the same. You go through so BS, man really. The thing I can't stand is dealing with anybody damn EGO when I have one of my own. Anyhew I think it's a smart choice to make. Sure u do get lonely sometimes but when you go to the mall and buy that guccie bag it sure does make up for the lonely department.

what y'all think ?

In all seriousness, some paths are NOT chosen, so those said *smart bitches* just excel in what they do well, are comfortable, being independant, get more choices in their careers, and paths, doesnt necessarily mean they OPT for career as opposed to family. We/I are driven in our careers, and sometimes we have so many responsibilities it IS hard to stop and put ourselves first, meaning relaxing, finding the "PERFECT PARTNER" settling down and having a *wonderful family*. Same as said women who HAVE settled down and had kids.. life isnt perfect, but we all wish for what the other has...but we make the most of what we have got

Edited.. just added a lil more.. batting eyes

I'm not knocking the wives and the mothers down, I think they deserve the most respect, being a mother and a wife is a career in it's own. My point is I sometimes feel the pressure of being a woman, it's like we have decided on the things really want. sometimes we do get in circustance where that's just not possible, even then we can still go back and fix our mistake, due the fact that life is about learning from the mistakes you've made. I'm just starting notice how as a woman we don't nearly have the fairness like men have and a lot of times we're force to choose.

What about the fairness with men? Who get trapped with kids, cos woman wants to have sex, get pregnant and snare the man into their sad lil lives? You think men have choices? Course they dont.. just as we women dont.. we make the most of the situation that we are in, and act responsibly. DiscoDiva, all your posts are shit. You wanna cause trouble. You are jealous, or envious of women who are successful, and all you want is a hand out in life. Go away, grow up and THEN post something half decent.

Thank you! clapping

I would love to settle down and have kids, but at the moment, its not possible, yet if it were thrust upon me, I would be ecstatic, however, one should not be envious of each other, each has their own path, and do what best you can in the path you have taken..

I always wanted to have children and I was 21 when my daughter was born. I made a choice and I went on studying graphic design in the meantime. It was very hard, the man I was married with turned to be very cold ( we were in Paris, then in Israel ) and I divorced in 2001. My husband took my girl for holydays in Israel and never let her back, it was 5 years ago. I am a very good worker but all my family troubles ate my life. I never found a job that I found interesting after 3 weeks, except in design but there's no job in Paris, I guess I have to learn to do something new.

My current partner really want to have a child (his first, he's 34) with me. I'll be honest and say I'm sure I don't promise everlasting love. He's the best I found, (except P. in all my fantasies). I can't say nothing wrong about him, but I don't feel involved enough to be pregnant. I'm not scared about the future, but my divorce and separation with my daughter are much too painful and I can't think about nothing else. Neither can I trust anymore... confused

A lot of people told me to raise a new family. I just can't.

I am only 31 yet, and I still have the feeling (perfect picture !!!) the right one is somewhere. If he's rich, I want to stay home and raise children. As an artist, I draw much better when I am happy and will go on with this, but family and my future man will be the most important. If we don't have enough money, I'll go to work, but "career" is not the most interesting in life, for me.

We are fortunate to have a choice, if we have a choice, that is.

What if you don't meet the right man at the right time? What if you run out of time? These things happen and a lot of women miss out when they probably would have chosen to have a family. These women find themselves suddenly in their late 30s, without much choice left.

On the other hand, trying to have BOTH family and career is the most difficult choice for those without funds for nannies and au pairs, handy as they are.

sigh
