Famous customers

I used to work in a 7-11. One day in walked bearded man of snooker, John Virgo. He seemed quite amiable and bought 20 Benson & Hedges and a big, chocolate football.

Served any celebrities? Were they charming?

You?

I used to work in a video store in Greenwich Village, where I waited on some famous people. My favorite was Eric Stoltz - he was very nice. He came in with Bridget Fonda (she was looking for Tex Avery videos) and he asked me if we had any good videos about serial killers, and we ended up having quite a long conversation about serial killer documentaries and bio pics, and which ones were crap and which ones were decent.

I also waited on Dmitri from Deee-Lite once, and I waited on Brad Pitt's assistant while Brad skulked in the corner by the door trying not to be noticed. lol

I thought the shark was fake, although I can't imagine his scripts were that complex. "Rawrrrrr chomp chop, *enter sea left and swimm off*"

oh my GOD, i forgot one of my greatest brushes with customer service greatness: when i worked in an art supply store in NYC, i waited on david bowie's art assistant! i helped this cute little guy with a shaved head figure out what kinds of painting mediums to purchase, and when i put together his stuff he said "we have a business account here, this is for david bowie".

on the outside i tried to be cool , but on the inside i was all omfg

My ex-boss is best friends with ROB SCHNEIDER. I talked to him on the phone once. What I thought was funny was that he asked to talk to my boss by saying his full name. I'm still waiting for my ex-boss to take me to one of his premiers.

Robyn Robinson of local news fame once stopped in at the flower shop I used to work at. I asked her out and she pepper sprayed me.

Although to be fair, I asked her out by inquiring if she'd like to join Tony M. and I for an erotic back flip competition.

I used to work in a hotel. Billy F. Gibbons of ZZ Top was staying there, and he took me and the other front desk girl out for drinks. We ended up staying downtown for hours. He called Wendy Melvoin for me and I gave her a message to give to Prince.

My younger brother had Robyne as a customer at a store up in Minneapolis, and he thought she was a bitch. At the same job, he also had Morris Day as a customer, and Morris would specifically ask for my brother when he needed customer assistance. cool

All I can come up with is that I waited on Bobcat Goldthwait as he came through drive-thru at the McDonald's I worked at in college. razz

My understanding is, after the success he had in Jaws, he found himself type-cast, only ever offered similar roles to the one he found fame in. After being rejected in his bid to win the lead role in Raging Bull, depression sunk in and he stopped acting altogether. However, as you know, sharks can't stop, they have to keep going, so he died.

Such a sad story! sad

Susan Sarandon (nicest woman in the world)
Elizabeth Rohm of 'law and order'
Mary Kate Olsen (looks like a very old and creepy woman)
Jia Rodriguez from Queer Eye
Thom from Queer Eye (complained about his bill)

I think that's about it. I have to say that you really like and admire famous people until you have to serve them. Susan Sarandon was wonderful to serve and Elizabeth Rohm was okay as well. I definitely liked the rest of these celebrities more before they walked through the door of my former workplace.

Howard Hewitt (stayed at the hotel I worked out) - shy and nice
Lawrence Hilton-Jacobs (same) - he played on Welcome Back Kotter - an asshole!
Bebe Neuwirth (same) - Lillith on Cheers (sweet and nice)
Tracy Lords (same) - gave her a bottle of wine and some potato chips.
Thea Vidale (same) - needed some help cooking. (funny woman)

At SamGoody:

The Kentucky Headhunters - blues band (talked to the lead guitarist about Hendrix for about an hour and a half...he missed rehearsal)
Tom Arnold - sold him the Terminator box set (creepy guy)
R. Kelley and Aaliyah - both came in and looked at some movies (didn't buy anything)
**...they were right about you.**
