Suze Ornman...Yay or Nay?

I came across this feisty chick this past weekend and learned more in 4 minutes about financial advice then I ever have.ANd then she moves into the relationship advice territory. And before you know it she's plunking down more advice in her primadonna "I'm Suze" sort of way.

I wanted to hate her...but she was just so on top of her game..I took notice. Then the next day a friend mentions her to me and how fab she is etc.

Has anyone else seen or heard of her?

You want me to sign up to your Yahoo blog or somewhat?

Is this your birthday?

What the hell?

I LOVE HER!!! LOVE, LOVE LOVE!

Suze is THE BEST. She offers very practical advice and breaks it down into language you can understand. Plus, she's been poor and she knows what it's like!

Plus, she's a total babe!!

I like Suze. She's known for looking at personal finances in what could be called a 'holistic' way which is why she delves into personal business a bit often.

She's got a dozen books, a TV show and a regular column in O Magazine.

She's definitely worth paying attention to.

lol

You know when I saw her...she reminded me of this demon..

But as I was in the mode of "who's this bitch with the scary hair and the no fuss in your face attitude" she gave me 2 pieces of financial advise in a snap. After that I was like "Go on Suze with yo bad ass self"

I have learned so much from Suze over the last couple of years. Her show on CNBC is a must watch for anyone who is interested in their own financial wellbeing (and that should be everyone). Suze gets a big thumbsup from me. She was even at the anual Hip Hop Summit in Detroit this summer talking to young urban folks about financial responsibility. YAY!

Some of my coworkers met her at a presentation, and they said she's really nice in person too.

Her lectures are very interesting. She doesn't try to sensationalize her info, she's very straightforward and makes good points. I like her.

I think she's great, but the one annoying thing about her (IMO) is when she calls her female callers, "Girlfriend", or says, "you go girl!"

Suze is the bomb. Read a book of hers, caught a special of hers here in Nashville on PBS that really got me thinking about my finances even more than usual. I dig her and this expert:

i have watched SUZE ... i like her ...

the positive- if you have credit card debt ... or are NOT ultra conservative with your money --- she has some good points !

the negative - i forget who said this - but i heard one of the economists or money talk guys say : suze is one of those "financial gurus " that are soooo conservative that if the economy/stock market takes off again like it did in the Reagan thru Clinton years --- she will be left in the dust ....

I think you might be oversimplifying her message. Her core comments about debt (particularly credit-card debt) are for people who aren't really in a position to invest in the stock market. These are people trying to change their position from hand-to-mouth existence to wealth accumulation.

I've heard her talk about the merits of a 401(k), as well as other investments. She's mostly known, however, for her talks about wise spending and paying off debts.

I've been familiar with her for a few years now, and in all honesty, felt that I could take her or leave her...but I will say that when I saw her on the Larry King Live show in the wake of Katrina advising people (in very simple language) how NOT to get ripped off by the insurance companies from the disaster (because they weren't really trying to pay claims anyway), I was just FLOORED! She covered everything from hidden insurance clauses that exist in contracts to how collect the most important info to protect yourself in the midst of a natural catastophe... and I was actually PRAYING that there were people out there in the viewing audience who would have a chance to hear her advice!

Suze Ornman is FIERCE! LOVE HUUH!

I LOVE Suze! I watch her show every week (except if I've seen it already). But she needs to realize that not everyone is suited to be a homeowner. If I didn't live w/ my parents I'd want to simply rent a small(ish) apt. because I don't own much (and am a minimalistic person) .
If it doesn't fit, it's ugly anyway.
