US census bureau I was FORCED to fill out the census. I am very not accepting of the concept. I had no choice as they pointed out repeatedly, I was bound by law to fill it out. If I did not return the forms I would be fined a penalty.

"The American Community Survey is conducted under the authority of Title 13, United States Code, Sections 141 and 193, and response is mandatory. We do them here in Britain every 10 years. I think they're a good thing, especially as old Census' have been useful to me this year in trying to trace my family tree. | |

Our equivalent to the social security number (called personnummer = personal number) alone tells you our exact date of birth, our gender and where we were born. And you have to give it to people almost no matter what you do, including if you just want to rent a video or join an organization. | |

If you're concerned about all that personal information in the hands of the government, the census is the least of your worries. Think about all the stuff they have access to every single day.....
