I'm gonna watch this masterpiece right now. I think the last time I
saw it I was 9 and had a pillow over my face most of the time.

I just got finished watching it and my god what a
masterpiece! Stanley Kubrick is awesome.
Now i have to watch "A Clockwork Orange" too.

Yeah, "2001" has been referenced several times on "Simpsons." Homer as the ape, taking a nap against the obelisk. Homer in space, eating the chips in zero gravity. Homer hallucinating in the vibrating chair.

I like "The Shining" because Kubrick's slower-than-molasses style works to build up the tension in that film. But I have to say his other films bore the hell out of me. I've never been able to make it through "2001" and "Eyes Wide Shut" is garbage.
