Knowing him, he'd probably try to sue! Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Pretty much. Todd McFarlane things he's too arrogant, and that is saying something, since he's one of the most arrogant assholes I've ever met. Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

...and now its time to play "How Big of a Plagerist is Rob Liefeld?"!
Here are some lovely examples of Rob boldly tracing...errr...paying homage to various creators: Do not hurry yourself in your spirit to become offended, for the taking of offense is what rests in the bosom of the stupid ones. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)

Wow! That is some blatant shit!
I've copied other artists (I'm a musician) but it was to learn, not to pass off as my own. Check this song out at:

It's a very valuable learnig tool to copy art. Even incorporating other artist's styles into your own is okay, but to shamelessly rip of specific works and say they're yours is inexcusable. Thanks jedi, I posted that first batch on an earlier thread this year, I couldn't find it at work. It's a okay to use other artists as inspiration, but I mean BLATANT copies is horrible.

This has been hilarious. I knew Rob Liefield was not as great an artist as many thought he was, but seein' all these blatant ripoffs of other artists is pathetic.
I lost complete respect for him when he said Jim Lee was a 'pretty boy' artist. It's amazing he's never tried to hack George Perez (my all-time favorite comic book artist) but then again, he couldn't. He'd have to use a scanner to copy George's work. Not sayin' that Rob in beyond that though.

I lost complete respect for him when he said Jim Lee was a 'pretty boy' artist. the fucker's got a lotta nerve... I think he said that because he can't copy Jim Lee. Thus, he calls him a 'pretty boy.' When I do draw stuff (which I don't have the time I would love to spend on it) George Perez, Jim Lee & John Byrne (old school X-Men stuff) are the artist whose styles I try to emulate because they were so detailed. Not that anything I draw could touch what they do, but they are at the top of my list for inspiration. Ethan Van Scier (sp?) is another really good artist that I enjoy lookin' at as well.

I met George Perez a few years back and he did a wicked head sketch of spidey for me with a sharpie on a back board. I love it and will frame it one of these days.
