Today might finally be the day I actually do it. I might get my almost down to my ass hair trimmed it's scary I know! but it needs it. I was thinking of getting it layered im sure nobody will even like respond to this. But I was just wondering if anybody out there knows a thing or two about hair. HIT ME BACK BIIIIIETCHES!

I didn't read that properly first time. I thought you were saying you're going to get your ass hair trimmed.

I know nothing about hair other than it's growing in places where I don't really need it, and disappearing from places I'd rather keep it.

Without knowing what you and your hair looks like, it's kinda hard to give advice.
But I'm always up for a change.

i bet it will look really nice and a trim / layering will help it to look healthy

and as far as moon phases go ... i always get my hair trimmed near the new moon ( like now ) ... it helps the hair to grow !!

Do you have straight or curly/wavy hair? If it's curly/wavy do you wear it straight?

I ask because if you have straight hair then layers may not work for you. You can angle the sides and have maybe one or two long layers, but if you do too much it could look "choppy". Although you may be aiming for that look too, it seems to be the "punk rock" hairstyle these days.
